As I'm going through a Super Orbit I picked up a few weeks, I've noticed that the 2 speakers are completely missing the paper cones. The mice ate them entirely. Anyway I have a few 4 ohm car speakers laying around that are close to the same size that I'd like to replace them with.

My question is: Here's a picture to show how the speakers are wired. One wire adjoins the two and the other come from the sound amp (I assume). Is there anything special about these speakers that make them different than other 4 ohms? Which terminal is + and which is - ? Is the wire that joins the two negative? I assume so, but I just want to make sure before continuing. Is there anything special I should do?

Yes mhanlen1 the wire jumpered between the 2 are run to the negative terminals. The other two wires run to the positve terminals. Any old 4 ohm car speaker will work just fine. I had the exact same problem with my Super Orbit and this is how I made it work.

Anyway, solved it. Went ahead and followed my hunch.

I have a system 80a Rack Em Up and I just bought a couple cheap speakers from best buy.

Years ago I bought some nice 6.5 inch polk speakers. While I got an employee discount on them, they retailed at $100 at our store for the pair. My cars came and went, but I've held on to 2 of them. Well today I finally found a use for them again. It sounds great, and I'm glad they're back in service.
