So I stopped by a garage sale this morning, and someone is selling their Gottileb Pinball Pool System 1(corrected) game, released in Aug. '79. Cab looks to be in good condition, playfield looked pretty clean, backglass had a few small flakes coming off. Only problems that I saw was the bumpers were dead, and that their was some sort of glitch with the scoreboard. It didn't display anything except some random lines. He was firm at $500 for it, I don't know if it's worth it, I couldn't find a whole lot about it, other than Vaps calls it "very rare" which can also mean "very unwanted", lol. I didn't get to take pics of it, but I figured I'd see if it's worth the purchase, or if anyone else would be interested in it. It's been in his house for 10 years, looked to be well kept other than the few issues mentioned above.

IF in fact it was an "EM" Pinball Pool it would probably a prototype or one of a kind...

I looked at it today also. It was actually in very nice shape. First display had a digit out. Think the fourth display was not working. Playfield was nice. Few spots of wear here and there but nothing major. Backglass was starting to lift in a few places. Pop Bumpers not working like mentioned above.

I passed on it. I usually look for games that are more projects.

Worth $500? Yea i think so if the issues were fixed.

That's kind of where I was at, if everything worked, I could see $500 with a little bartering. Walking in there blind and not having enough pinball knowledge about this game and parts, I didn't know if those were cheap fixes or if it would've cost me double in the end. And not really my style of pinball, figured I'd pass the info along if someone else was interested. I'm more into late 80's-90's pinball myself, I know that sacrelig to some, but it's what I grew up on.

It is a great game, probably my favorite pool themed game. As far as price of 500, depends on if you really want it or not. If it does not work correctly, he is going to ahve a hard time selling it at a garage sale for that price. If you want it cheaper, let him sit on it for awhile and give him a call in a few weeks.

Yeah I've played it a lot; maybe I'm kind of burned out on it though. I've been enjoying some earlier Gottlieb pool themed games more.
