Alan173 stopped by last Saturday while on vacation. It was awesome to finally meet in person and share my arcade. We played a lot of skeeball, and of course some Sprint 2 as well. To watch Alan drive wide open in 4th gear and crash once was almost comical it was so awesome! He put up a score that nobody is going to break in my arcade no doubt.

Plus I am VERY grateful that Alan fixed the sonar ping sound on my Sea Wolf, and showed me the process on how to test the sounds with just a piece of wire. Awesome! We had a great visit; I only wish we could do that more often.

Yes.....I made the mistake of making fun of 'The Pilot' and all of his equipment - I even was checking my ear with his geiger counter. Needless to say....I think John's third picture captured the Pilot saying to me "Cuuuuuuut it OUT!!!"......

Caught me a little off guard!

I will never make fun of him again and only show him the utmost repsect.

I'll post some more pictures soon....(still unwinding after a whirl-wind vacation).....but what an AWESOME visit my entire family had to The LOST HIGHWAY ARCADE! When the end of the night came it was met with NOOOOOOOO..........can't we stay longer.....pleeeeeeeeease......oh pleeeeeease.....just a few more minutes!!! And believe it or not....my kids were complaining too! ;)

Not enough good things can be said about somebody who shares their own personal space and has your entire family over for dinner too!

THANKS JOHN!!! So great to finally meet you after all those years of correspondence....

Alan

I have to say this....after experiencing skee ball in a home arcade....I'm further driven to make this statement - WHOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! SKEE BALL ROCKS!!!

John's set up is almost something he should patent. He has a 13' skee ball machine in front of 4 vintage wooden theatre chairs that are the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat it in. This is THE MOST perfect set up for anyone lucky enough to say they have a skee ball machine in their basement.

Here is a shot without the flash....which better captures the 'atmosphere' of John's arcade:

Here is my 5 year old daughter Allison using her father's face as a mop at the skee ball machine! Good times......

Here's a couple of pics looking the other way...if you were standing down by Capcom Bowling looking back at the theater seats; which by the way I agree with Alan. They may be the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in as well. They are from the 1930s. You really get the whole view of that side of my arcade from the seats, plus you can see who's coming down the stairs as well.

That skydiver looks awe-some. I want to play that game someday.

Great pics, mang.

John,

You little bastard holding out on me while a fellow Michiganer was in your presence? Man, thanks for the invite! I hope you two had a wonderful bromance going on during Alan's visit!,

:)

Don't worry.....I left a gift for ya! Just ask John next time you stop by.....;)....

Looks like we may have been having a conversation over time and space.

When I first picked up the phone somebody on the other end asked "Are you wearing any pants?"......I immediately hung up.....and thought.....hmmmm.....I wonder if that was Phet?

So that explains things....:)

Love that setup! If I'm headed up that way for any reason, I'll be sure to make a planned detour to the famed Lost Highway!

Quit pretending you know everyone's first name John! Just kidding. Hey, when is the party scheduled for this year? I've got Steve Moerke asking me and I don't know what to tell him.

Yeah I need to start thinking about that really soon, like right now. It'll be October again for sure. I'll discuss it with wifey tonite and let you know.

Usually I'm really bad at remembering people's names. For some reason I can do it here. That's about all the brain capacity I have, though...

October road trip for me? ;-)

You just have to admit....The Lost Highway Arcade is fun for ALL ages! I love this picture.....because my youngest (who is 5 years old).....said to me....."I know he is not real....but I'm still not getting any closer than this for the picture!".

Priceless - LOL! And yes....she was smart enough to 'Fear The Pilot' right away.....unlike her old man....:)
