I picked up a nice 4 player X-men last night (I wanted a 6 player, but it wouldn't physically fit into my basement arcade). The seller bought it from the original owner, who bought it for private use. The guy I bought it from had it in a Mexican restaurant for 90 days, but other than that it's been HUO. Probably the closest unit I will ever own to being truly HUO. I know it's not rare, but this is the game that I spent most of my childhood arcade time playing. A big thanks to eXidy (aka Jon from arcade-classics.com) for his help with the purchase.

I couldn't be happier with my first 3 months of arcade ownership. I've found 3 of my "must haves" all within a 1 hour drive.

I love to see these posts. Congrats on finding a Grail!!!!! Looks to be in decent shape.

It's in very nice shape. A few scratches on the graphics, one nick on the CPO (<.25") and some wierd crap that is sprayed on the front and side that I can't figure out how to get off (look almost like buffing compound?). But other than that it's in great shape.

Congrats on finding your grail. I haven't played X-Men since I was a kid, but I remember it being pretty awesome.

nice to see you found one! i'd figured you would pretty quick with all the ones that have popped up on denver cl lately.

It was always my favorite. Of course I played on a 6 player, but that wouldn't fit in my basement. Too cold up here for a garage arcade too.

Nice! It looks good together with tha Simpsons machine.

Thanks. Now I just need a TMNT... (I'm actually not going to get one, I've got a board already)

Nice pickup! You have good taste. ;)

I'm still hoping to find a SWT someday.

Thanks. I was actually about to buy a SWT in LA. Seems like Cali always has everything I'm looking for...

I've been waiting for a good 4 player. Most of them have been 2 players.

Congrats! I picked up my 4P X-Men on Thanksgiving weekend (a grail for me as well). Same situation: grew up playing the hell out of the 6P in the local arcade (as long as the Nightcrawler spot was open) but didn't have the space/$$$ for it.

It looks like you're wanting to get all the dedicated cabs as well, but I don't have that option (again with the space) so I'm putting a 6-in-1 switcher in the X-Men. Already have a TMNT and Sunset Riders board. Will be looking to pick up the requisite Simpsons and Capt. America and the Avengers over the next couple of months. Then it will just be down to making the kick harnesses for each game with diodes over time.

Very cool grab. What's with the chair in front of it? Do you have these games at an assisted living facility? ;)

Congrats on getting your X-Men! It's one of my favorite games also and I consider my machine a grail as well. I'm kind of the opposite of you and Raikus....I grew up playing the 4 player version at our local bowling alley or Wal*Mart, but I ended up with a 6 player. I only played a 6 player one time as a kid when my family was in Florida. I remember thinking it must have been some illegal or hack version because I couldn't fathom more than 4 players being legit. My suspicions were confirmed when the thing re-booted with a rom error in the middle of playing a game with 5 others. I was the last to join in and had to use Storm, which is way better than being stuck with Dazzler. ;)

I've obviously got the Simpsons (paid just a little more than if I were to buy the board seperate ;)), I've got a TMNT, and Capt America, and X-men COTA. I'm going to do a switchable in the Simpsons cabinet after I convert it to 6 button.

Just for comfort. My back starts hurting if I stand still for more than 30 minutes.

Whoa now that I look at it, I think I have that same chair! I have a fairly random assortment of stools and chairs for the arcade.

Those were actually bar stools from out kitchen that my wife said to use for the arcade instead. She's a keeper :D
