Got myself a Crusin USA

The stand up Cruisin' cabinet is real ugly IMHO. It's definitely a lot less common than the sit down version, but also a lot less fun (and I don't really find the game to be a lot of fun anyway). I'm not sure if the stand up could be converted to World or Exotica, as I've only seen the original in a stand up cab. I'd imagine a Cruisin' Exotica board would probably still cost a pretty penny, as I still see it on location at A LOT of places. Personally, I would try and restore it into a different racer if possible. Maybe Final Lap or Outrun?

Dudes off the rocker...

A classic game here in a great looking cabinet. Does the sit-down look better? Sure but I know many of us don't have the room for one. I'm not sure who would stick any 80's racing game in a 1995 Cruisn cab with a med-res monitor. Great pick-up IMO I would love to have one. Not worth tracking down an Exotica board as they're pretty steep. This would be part of my ideal arcade...which won't be happening soon but that's another story.

Thanks guys. I've been playing quite a bit and it is really fun. I need to change the button battery as it won't hold any settings when I turn it off. And naturally Radio shack doesn't carry it. It's a BR2025. RS has it on line though.(plus the default volume is flipping loud.) The "bong" sound wakes up the whole house before I can get to the menu to turn it down. Lol.

Well off to.find a replacement Marquee as this one is cracking. And maybe hunt down a Crusin World PCB.....

Just picked up an Off Road Challenge and now after reading your thread I want a Cruisin USA... I remember being in shock when I saw the graphics on it for the first time when it first came out at the local bowling alley....

Cruisin world Pedal for arcade

Does anyone have a working pedal for a standup cruis'n world that they are willing to sell. I have a pedal that works sometimes but not all the time. I already changed the part in the pedal and it still didn't work good.

Thanks

Oh man, I wish I could recall all my Cruis'n knowledge I had in my head when I was diggin in my machines on a daily basis... I still have my sitdown worlds, I haven't touched them for over two years since my arcade room got put on hold when we removed the carpet... now we're selling our house so the room must wait until we buy again.

BUT...

I think USA and World can swap out no problem... but with Exotica there's are kit wires you need for the conversion (you can make your own though). Also, the force feedback won't work unless you either change the chip on the driver board to Exotica or also swap out the driver board with an Exotica. There are two versions of the driver board too... on the "older" version it's chip U8 (long rectangle) and on the "newer" boards it's U3 (square).

I also have Off Road Challenge... but I'm not 100% that's a swap in/out either... I "think" you can simply swap it out for USA/World... but you could run into the force feedback driver chip issue again on that one as well.
