Made a trade for my Fireball 2 Pin-cab ( Kids didn't play it ) for a Star Wars running through mame. From what I can tell its missing the Board, Power supple, and Vector Monitor, to bring it back to life.

Should I try and restore it? Or keep it running through an Emulator?

If not I am going to put in a bigger PC to handle AAE.

Looks sweet tho sitting next to my Virtual Pinball Cab, Running Star Wars... =)

Will Look 200% better running AAE tho, thats for sure, if I cant restore it. New to this, but what am I looking at spending to find a Vector Monitor, PCB, Power supply, and side art?

Now to find a Tron... If anyone has the hook up's please let me know =)

Welcome EQ- I would leave it as-is and buy the parts one at a time until you have them all for the conversion. A running SW is definitely purdier than a dark unlit cabinet. That leads to the DARK Side of the Force.. :D

+1 don't leave it as a Mame.

I've never seen a PinMAME cabinet before...is that what that is?

Love the virtual pinball thing!

As for the Star Wars, I think that is awesome. Sure it is not the real deal, but the exterior looks good and the game functions. Take your time and try to bring it back to life if possible, but I'd be happy with it.
I'm making the same setup right now, because my broke ass will never be able to blow good money on a single Star Wars cab. So therefore, I'll just hotwire a yoke game to USB setup. Good enough for me.

Put your entire Pinball program on a hard drive and mail it to me.
Thanks

Does AAE support ESB?

I think it Does... the only thing you can't program withen AAE is Mice control, Ill know here within a few days. Going to load AAE into it, till I get the parts to make the conversion.

I am scared, this will be my first Arcade restoration, But I think AAE pulls it off Almost as good as a real Vector Monitor.

No one ever said how much those parts cost, and what exactly i will need to restore it. Do they still make Vector Monitors? I thought they where gone forever?

Id be happy to share my HD for anyone wanting the Pinmame stuff, just send me a PM. Tho I would hope if you are truly interested in it, that you help support the community over at Hyperspin, Anyone that comes into my house to lend me a hand, never leaves empty handed.

You have to find used working one, either a WG k6100 or an amplifone ( amplifones are better but might be a little more expensive and harder to find). A board and monitor will probably set you back 500 to 600, 200-250 for a board and 250 to 350 for a monitor.

Well i was off, alittle... AAE does not support a Joystick... yet. The Yoke on this is wired to a A-pac.

It works within Mame. But on in AAE ( It crashes before loading )

Here is a Pic with it running with Mame.

Here it is running with AAE, without the Yoke plugged in.

Vector monitors are hard to come by but they are out there.

It has been rumored that Dave @ Ram Controls was going to pursue reproducing new monitors. It might be a while though.

You need quite a few things to back it back up to spec. If the cabinet is in great shape you might be better off trying to find a trashed game for cheap and just transplant the parts. At least you have a playable game, you can find the parts over time.
