Got my classic all-time favorite * Wizard of Wor (Midway mini) *

This is my final arcade cab purchase since I have no room to house anymore.
I sprung for this one just for the simple fact it was a Midway mini cabaret at the right price/time/location. (about a mile from me)
From what I've read, they are a little hard to find compared to the UR version.
The cocktail is really hard to get, I've only seen maybe 3.

If I was to ever move into a larger place that could hold a couple more games. Maybe, Sinistar & Berzerk would be me absolute final additions to my collection, but I would only go for the cocktail versions to save room. WOW being my all time favorite classic arcade game since way back when, I had to get it.

I will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon, and will have it nestled between my SFII cab and my Candy cab.

(pics are from the seller)

The front looks real clean, will need to get a new CPO down the road. (anyone know where to get a cabaret size new CPO?)

The sides look unscathed, and will need some side art if I can find those as well.

Fully operational, all the lights, bells and whistles work, with no cracks or chips.

Awesome grab! :beerchug: Wizard of Wor is one of the main reasons I started collecting all those years ago... fantastic game... congrats!

Nice grab. You gotta love the cabaret games and that one looks pretty clean. You say you are out of room now but most of us have said that a few times. :)

but I would only go for the cocktail versions to save room.
Between the game and the seating, I think most people would argue that cocktails take up more room (atleast if you're talking about footprint size; obviously uprights take up more vertical/wall space). That's one of the main reasons I stopped buying them ..

awesome wizard of wor! that looks to be in pretty damn decent shape. i think the only complaint i have about the mini is that it's way more cramped when playing 2 player than it is on the upright.

Thanks all, and I found out that it once belonged to another KLOV member about a year ago before he traded it for a pinball. ;) I want to thank him and the guy I got it from for taking sweet care of it over the years. Hate seeing things getting trashed or wither away.

So I went and picked it up today and it was still nice as the pictures above claimed it was. I was however surprised of the size, and how skinny it was. (haven't really seen a cabaret in person before) There were some rough edges around the back/bottom areas which is no biggie to me. Everything but the monitor looked to be original. All the manufacturing tags were still stapled to the insides and haven't found a date yet. But did manage to find the serial number. # 00490.

I'm overall happy with this purchase of buy my 3rd and probably final grail to my collection.

Pics will come later since I have took a few, and made a video, but I can't seem to find my camera transfer wire ATM. The actual game is 1000x better than Mame, and I've actually heard the wizard say a few lines that I've never heard before. Authenticy pays off, and I learned that yet again today.

More pics later...

True, but I was considering to trade out my coffee table out for it. Then I got to thinking that 3 arcade machines and a slot, were enough. lol Next I would be saying I could trade my couch for a couple of starwars chairs. ;)

I see what you mean, before I seen it in person I had this vision of it being stubby not skinny.

Gee, that looks familiar.....actually i know several of the past owners including one who's owned it at least three times.

lol I remember your old thread from about a year ago. So the guy tells me that he had just gotten it not that long ago for a pinball trade. A buzzer went off in my head, talk about a small world. That's awesome you know it's history. I wonder it's history, was it ever on location? How old is it really?

wow
