Pretty happy about this pickup... I gave up Gorf for it.

I've forgotten how much I enjoy this game. Simple pain in the ass game. Cab is unique and has neat artwork.

The only thing I'm bummed about is the control panel has an overlay on it :( I would rather a nice minty painted on steel original.... maybe if someone has one they would part with???

Sittin' next to Tempest... this game looks great!

POIDH.

Great game to have. I have been waiting for one for a good while now. Did you get the caberet of the full size?

Got full size... I don't get too excited for the cabaret as Missile Command is pretty compact as it is... plus the I feel the artwork beats the wood grain in this case.

I will "prove" it with pics later :) but let me tell you... it was raining cats and dogs today... and I have a pick-up :( I wrapped the thing in so much plastic it looked silver. Got it home... unwrapped it and it was bone dry...

Got full size...

Good for you. I'd rather have a full size also, just for the art. I want one next to my Liberator. Does a cabaret plays any different? Because of the size? I have never played a MC cabaret.

Nope... exactly the same, smaller cab, smaller monitor.

Generally cabarets are cool IMO, that is if you have a decent collection of them... to me just one cabaret wouldn't look right in a collection of full sized uprights, kinda looks like a defect. If you had an entire row of them... that would be cool.

you want to try playing it on cocktail if you think its hard on cabaret or upright, its realy tough,i seriously doubt any world records will be beaten on cocktail.and i got 1 and another that i just got up and running although it needs a working board to finish it off.
:)

I believe that... I've never tried a cocktail version and would like to someday.

Ok, I'll have to give you some shit for giving up a Gorf for it....ah what the hell! MC is really cool. I have one, too and love it.

I wouldn't mind having the cockpit version, I suppose those are pretty rare. I like the looks of the upright and the cockpit....

The gorf went to a new owner that will love it! Picking up next week! hold the date.
You spent that cash fast:)

Heh heh... yeah, I had been stringing the seller along because I was waiting for a buyer for my Gorf. I'm trying to be selective about the games I keep in my collection. Even though Gorf is awesome in terms of the overall game experience, I just didn't play it that much and Missile Command is really the first video game I remember (besides Tail Gunner) as a young kid... so I've been waiting for a while to get one.

Talk to you soon!

Not true! The cabaret has a 2.25" trackball, which is WAY easier to spin around than the big 4.5" trackball on the full size upright!

I agree, MC is a great game. It's one of my all-time favorites. So simple but so challenging. And the game theme is totally 1980...

Oops forgot about the trackball diff!

Congrats on the pickup. I sold a Missile Command CT and totally miss the game. One of these days I hope to find a Cabaret near me.
