Responded to a CL ad and went to pick this up today.

Paperboy works but has no sound. Got it cheap at $250 and they dont come around everyday.

Here are some pics.

for $250.00 i would have picked it up too, those never pop up down here. and phets right its mute not deaf, unless your holering at it in disgust cause you cant fix the sound problem and it just isnt listening.

I picked up a Gyruss years ago with no sound. Thankfully it just had some dead speakers in it, which I replaced with Pioneer ones. Hopefully its something as simple as that. Paperboy is such a damn good game. Like to see some pics once you restore it. :D

It does the "Ding" like MM or 720 when you turn it on and then nothing.

Are ARII and ARIII boards interchangeable with the chips? Cause I have a working ARII spare board.

I don't have any room, but if I saw that on CL, I would definitely pick it up. Very nice. Hopefully you can get it worked out.

Have you tried going through the self test mode to see if it throws any errors? It will play a range of sounds.
