The wife got bored and took a paint brush and some very well matched acrylic paint to my Ms. Pac-man. I've had it for 8 years and the side art was decent but worn, especially the blue paint. I had always considered the left side to be the worst, especially the pink near the back. Its not absolutely perfect but it is free-hand. All of the paint on both sides has been complely gone over, artwork and all. The front was near perfect to start with and only needed slight touching up. It is far and away better than it was. It does not look like the same machine. I know that I could not have done this kind of work. Aren't wives great?

Looks great !! My sister likes to paint so I'm gonna have her paint my Ms Pacman one day .

The following is my wife's description of the painting process.

what i did was i went to wal mart and bought Apple Barrel Acrylic paints (20717 bright blue, 20401 bright red, 20471 bright yellow, 20404 black, and 20403 white.) and it was just the matter of mixing the paints to macth the unfaded part of the game. it does take time to mix but do it slowly and in small amounts at a time. the yellow and the black came straight out of the bottle. the blue you have to mix with the black. the pink you have the white with the red, black and blue DO NOT use a lot of black and blue in the pink. use a paint brush not a roller. it may take time. it took me 6 days to do this and that is all day long. if it is possible DO NOT sand the machine to get rid of the old paint use it as a template.

Brilliant!!

My gf has been thinking of doing the same and freehanding my Pac...

She's a bit of an artist, so who else would I trust? ;)

Game looks great. Real question is, what's with that carpet? :)

Thats looks awesome. My wife could never do this, but she does work at a university and I have always thought about hiring an art student to come over and do something similar to this. Just hasnt been a priority.

I am very much enjoying the new look of my Ms. Pac. The wife is also thinking about going after the Pac-man as well. Next up is the Donkey Kong, though it only needs some touch up. There are a few gouges that could look better. I put new side art on it 3 years ago, which still looks great.

Oh yeah, about the carpet, the house is a rental and the carpet in the room where to games used to be is much worse. Orange shag, not much I can do. I try to ignore it. I guess, after 4 years, you don't really see it anymore.
