Thanks gabesdad1981 but most are already converter to .882

The redemption arcade will be in Chesapeake Square Mall in Chesapeake, Va., and I believe I do have a good mix of redemption vs non-redemption items.

The last auction I went to in Tennessee (last weekend), I went with the sole purpose of getting a Cyclone, Basketball, and a 2 person racer, but wouldn't you know it, they got bid up way outta line so I filled the truck with other games.

The arcade will be a Area 51 theme so if anyone has anything 'alien' or flying saucer like backglass or props at low, (did I mention very low?)prices, let me know.

Awesome! I will have to stop by whenever i'm by that area.

As someone that's worked at an FEC for years, and seen the earnings reports month after month, let me give you some advice:

Redemption:

Where's Big Bass Wheel? It's not a redemption room without Big Bass Wheel.

Get rid of it posthaste. Won't earn worth a damn, impossible to find parts for, and it has a nasty design flaw that causes it to get payouts completely and glaringly WRONG frequently enough that you'll get constant complaints.

100" Projector Screen for xbox 360 w/coin slot for controllers

How does this work? Time limit? Who chooses the games?

Self Redemption/Vending

You need a big ticket item piece here, like a Road Trip, Key Master, Barber Cut, Stacker, Winner's Cube... you get the idea. Put at least one high-price-tag, big-name item in it. Our Key Master has a 3DS, for example. People will empty their pockets into that machine going after the big prize.

Drill O Matic

Same problems as Big Haul, except it's worse as it's very VERY hard on the cheap little stepper motors in the arm that, surprise, aren't made anymore.

Arcade Games:

No drivers? Don't be silly. Get a 4x linked set of something 3D. Cruis'n USA would work, but if you want to build a fanbase you should find something with a little more depth like Rush or Sega Rally.

Troll eBay for ST-V carts and matching marquees, and switch it out periodically.

1/2/4/6 slots? What games? In any case, stay on top of tracking which games are played the most and cycle out the ones that don't get as much attention.

Pole Position

On location? You've got balls, my friend.

Police 911 shooter

Keep your eyes open for a Mocap Boxing to put next to it. Very similar cabinet (the same cabinet?) and mostly the same guts.

Time Crisis 2 (2x27" crt)

Good choice. TC does so well you'll wonder why you bother with any other video. Once you're turning a profit, pick up a TC3 as well.

Awesome! I used to love going by Chesapeake Square when I lived down there, I'll need to stop by some time again to check this out :)

Interesting. Wish you were a little closer to me as I'd swing by(I'm in the Richmond area so I'm guessing around 2 hours away).

Anyway as some others have said try to get some driving games. I'd also say a few fighting games.

For the die hard cabinet you don't have that many good stv games. Most of them were not released in america as well.

Die hard is prob the best cart for it. I don't have the marquee for virtual fighter remix or super major league but if you ever want to borrow the carts for it and try them out let me know. I have a feeling die hard will pull more money though.

Arcade Games:

Centipede upright
Centipede table
Galaga table
Galaga 3 upright
Kangaroo
Pole Position
Space Invaders

I guess if you get a large number of people wanting to play Centi then you've got it covered. I would think tossing a Multi-pac table vs a Centi table would be a possible better use of space and electricity for earnings.

Same goes with Galaga....Turn that into a Multi-cade which gives you Galaga.

Kangaroo....Super curious how that does on location. If no good, then toss a 48-1 in there.

Pole - As it's been said, you've got balls.

Space Invaders - great classic.

I agree with others regarding big drivers. I think you could sell off a few of those pieces and pick up some linked drivers. Since redemption will be your mainstay for earnings, I would thin out the arcade a bit and offer up multi-cabs so you can have more games and more space.

Much success....

roothorick, thanks for the insight, any info like that is more helpful and you might think. I will keep an eye on those games that you mentioned might be non-money makers and act accordingly, but for now, I own them and need to use them. The reason you don't see any newer or big ticket games are because of the budget. As you can see by the titles, I am only able to purchase older games and collect them up. Now that I have enough to actually fill an arcade I need to make these games that I have make some $$$ instead of sitting around in various places in my city collecting dust.

I am betting on the fact that I own all the games and will also have the 6 lane slot car track that this arcade will actually make it. We were in the space today that we are leasing taking measurments, it is 4600 sqft,, usable space to be about 3400 sq ft, the rest a back room, it was an old 'Champs' sporting goods store and is perfect because it has tv's hanging from the ceiling in quite a few places that will certainly be used for something. BW, did I mention it is next door to a black light mini-golf course? We talked and figured it will be perfect for both of our businesses.

As far as the 'drivers' because of the slot car track there will be at least one pair of driving machines, probably crusin exotica or something to that nature, remember, the $$$ thing. It will be located with the slot car track, the pole position and the dual motorcycle racing racing game I have with the 25" crt's (Cyber Cycles). But yes, there WILL be at least one set (quite possibly a hydro thunder also.. just because I like it).

The auction in feb I am hoping to get a cyclone, color-rama, basketball and dual racing game as well as one of those 'cut the string, drop the prize' games like you mentioned.

As the time nears it gets more exciting, I could help picking up off craigslist a 1980's Capcom Bowling game today, just one of those things that 'popped' up, in great shape and working perfectly, I had to get it!

will keep ya posted!

Might as well make each one a multi given by your response!! ;)

Changing the game out?

Yep, I am considering changing out the cocktail table games but not until their crt's go(they seem to be the original crt's) and I need to upgrade them to lcd screens.

You'll like this, electricity is INCLUDED in the rent!

thanks for the advice.

The race track

Well, it is a 6 lane Ninco 1/32 slot car track. It is 25' long, 6'wide on the skinny end and 10' wide where the loop comes out. I have never hooked it up this way, but the time is going to be controlled with tokens valued at 1.00 each. Each lane will have a coin slot with coin comparator in it that will turn on/off the relay board that controls each lane.

This is the same type setup we will be using on our xbox360, the timer there will cut off the usb controllers. (it was to be a 100" screen but after taking measurments of the place again, it will be more on the line of 200" screen)

I'll try to upload a old pic I have of it.

Oh, tell me more!
