yea I read that, I guess ill just return it, maybe try another one? I hate this. I hate wireless shit so much. So many settings, so much to go wrong.
I have 2 more adapters here, but dont have the drivers, and cant get them because my cd burner isnt working on this pc. fml.

just bought a linksys adapter. now its working on an off. hooked it up to my router and internet is mint. so not sure what to do. I need to hardwire this shit. I hate wireless. I am gonna try my netgear wireless G adapter since my router is G. if that dont work. idk

also. Luke, I have the manual for my motherboard. It says in terms of memory, DDR2 Maximum FSB 800mhz. Maximum FSB w/ EPP 800mhz. Thats all the info it gives me.

so the netgear is so in and out. I bought a new linksys router. Matches the usb adapter and says to use together. If this doesnt work, then I have no choice but to try and hardwire it somehow. Its is gonna be a huge pain since the only phone line is in my down stairs.

If the new router doesn't work out. look into getting a custom firmware. DD-WRT is popular. Make sure you backup the current and try the custom. If it doesn't work, put the backup firmware back on before you return it.
I bought a D-Link N wireless router for $40 and it sucked bad until I tried DD-WRT. After that it is amazing. The real problem is that companies cheap-out on their products that make it to the personal market. Enterprise stuff is always better, but sometimes there are people out there to make personal/home products better.

So lets see. I went to my girlfriends house the other day and her mom got a new computer. Windows 7. She has the same router. New linksys E1000. both my girlfriend and sister have horrible connections at there house and her mom got this airlink usb adpter. the internet is almost like its hard wired. amazing.

are you using a usb mouse or keyboard on that computer so you can make sure the usb ports are working correctly?
also goto start>control panel>device manager is there anything with a yellow mark on it?
anyway you can get a screenshot of the properties of the wireless device?
