Got a Kurz Kasch test rig along with a bunch of bins full of IC's, diodes, relays, eproms, regulators and just about everything else you could name for working on old games and pins.

The Kurz came with cards for the following games,

Targ

Space Encounters
Pacman
Galaxian
Rally X
Battlezone
Gorf
Atari AR-2 boards
Space Firebird
Phoenix/Pleiades
Defender
Wizard of Wor
Scramble
Omega Race
Centipede
Galaga
Qix
Vangaurd
Reactor
Make Trax
Dig Dug
Frogger

Super Pacman
Gravitar/Space Duel
Q-bert

Millipede
Bagman
Star Trek
Xevious
Buck Rogers
Congo Bongo
and last but not least :
Quantum

Also has various other boards and adapters, too many to list. Has one of the 2 boards for
Asteroids. Would still like cards for Red Baron, Lunar Lander, Sea Wolf, Boot Hill and Video Pinball but this is a nice start.

Can't wait to try this thing out.

I am not sure yet what all it's capable of. There are people on here that know more about them than I do. I know Omegaman uses them on the OR boards.

What does it do exactly? You just plug in a board and it can tell you which parts are bad?

This is what I think, and I could be wrong, I am sure someone will chime in that knows, but to me it looks like it powers up the board and tests it. I don't think it really troubleshoots on it's own, but you can use a scope, signature analyzer or Fluke9010a with it to do the actual troubleshooting. It saves you the hassle of making all the adapters for a
typical bench test set-up.

If only it were that simple. KK and Pat9000 are basically test beds for boards. What it allows you to do is hook up a board to a known good universal cabinet for testing purposes. This way you can hook up a variety of games. Think of it as a All in one cabinet. There are varying methods of doing this. Some people just build a Jamma test setup, then build Jamma cards for various games to plug into their Jamma setup.

So instead of having to troubleshoot your board inside a cabinet you get to test it on your bench where all your tools are. Scopes, Probes, Solder irons etc.. It facilitates repair, you still have to find the offending problems.

Is this something an OP would've had BITD, or did it come later?

There is some paperwork with it that I think was dated 1984 saying this was being discontinued and that the cards were being liquidated. So it looks like these were out while
the 80's games were in their prime. You can also tell by the game titles. There are cards for a lot of 70's games ( not in my find but on the master list).

@Mark, at a glance i do not see a 309b

Awesome! Damn that's a lot of parts bins full of parts. And a metric shitload of Kk adapters! Nice score!

Almost impossible to find that many complete adapters, great score!

Bumping this old thread with an update.

I still have not totally gone through the blue bins. A lot of labels were missing and I need to look at every drawer one at a time and label it again. I did find a huge sealed bag of at least 50 mpsu57's and 50 mpsu07's, that should hold me for awhile. Looking forward to really seeing what all is in these bins.

I am also going to sell the Kurz Kasch tester. I finally plugged it in. It powers on and has the +5vdc but I did not plug in any boards or test anything with it. I have a Sea Wolf card for it now but the Quantum and Battlezone cards might not be included in the sale.

I will make an actual for sale post soon.
