havent got into it alot, but just getting a green screen and a hum from the speaker.does anyone know how many volts are supposed to be coming out of the main power supply? i found a burnt spot on the back of the power board.the burn was around the round thing WITHOUT the circle around it (dont know what its called).

you should be getting +5 volts out of it. looks like you are not due to that burned transistor (q102 - a 2n2905) being in the +5 circuit. i would either rebuild the power supply, or get a replacement switcher kit for it. that should fix the problem.

to check for +5v, you can check on pin 19 (red wire) of the 22 pin connector on the power supply (the connector for the harness that goes to the game pcb) and that will give you your +5 reading.

yes, go with switcher. if you don't want to hack one in, go with arcadeshop one for $39 with the PS.

Or you could just build the adapter yourself. My daughter(she's 8) and I make them out of a couple connectors and some scrap wire... she likes helping with stuff like that. ;) Total cost is ~$5 if you have the scrap wire already.

Don't forget +$25 for the switching power supply. So its actually costing you $14 for the adapter. If you say its $5 in parts to build one, its now down to $9...

If you have computer parts laying around or access to them, you can use a computer PS. I've got one in my Super Pac cocktail and it works just fine. Had to get out the schematic diagram to figure out where to hook it up for AC power and did some creative wiring but it works great.

Is the rest of that cabinet in the same condition as the left side? If so, major score! I have been wanting an upright since '82. I very nearly got one a couple of months ago that had a power supply problem as well. Unfortunately, the guy was wishy washy and the deal fell through. Cabinet wasn't as nice as yours, though. Oh well, I've got the cocktail, at least, but its just not the same.

Hmmm... I always thought those prices were without the power supply. If they do include it, that's definitely the way to go(unless you really enjoy the DIY part of the hobby).

yes, arcadeshop does include the power supply.

If you have access to a bunch of PC PS's and want to use those, then maybe you could save a few bucks.. But PC power supplies tend to be a pain to mount in a cab..
