Got a fun little homebrew game in the mail today...Whim Wars!

It's a tabletop dice, pencil, and paper game so it doesn't really go in the Console/Handheld/PC/iOS section, but I didn't want to go to the CAAA section with this since it is a game...

I was parusing eBay last week and I saw a listing for Zelda: Outlands for the NES and that made me want to look around for other Homebrew games. I found a tabletop game that seemed interesting enough and was cheap enough that if it sucked I wouldn't care. The game was $6 shipped. It is called Whim Warshttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Whim-Wars-H.../200796863433?pt=Games_US&hash=item2ec06cfbc9.

Whim Wars is a two player game that uses a small map, 5 dice (3 6sided, 1 10sided, and 1 12sided), and a pencil. It is a space combat strategy game. It is very easy to learn and there's a bit of added strategy to keep the game interesting. I won't go into the rules because the game has a short list of rules and I don't want to mess up their work they did to think up the game. A match can last as little as 10 minutes or take as long as you want (with all the smack talk and taunting that you throw at your opponent). The game is easily expandable to 4 players by adding 2 more 6sided dice (not included with the purchased game).

There are free extra downloadable printable maps available at their website AccordingToWhim.comhttp://www.accordingtowhim.com/. You can also order the game directly through this website as well as packs of maps if you wish to send a little more love their way.

If you like tabletop games or boardgames I highly recommend getting this. My wife and I played just two matches tonight and she is already hooked. I already ordered a second game to give as a Christmas gift to my NERDy friend.

I might have to check this out!

It is only $5 shipped for the game if you buy through the According To Whim website. I was told by the creators that they plan to get into making a Deluxe production version of the game through a kickstarter campaign (next year).
