Got a new tool!

A friend of mine saw me reading a book on O scopes and we got to talking and I said I was thinking of buying one. He say's "Dont do that I have 5-6 of them in my shop let me look" so a couple of days later he brings me a Sencore SC61 scope!

http://www.probemaster.com/ have pretty cheap probes. That scope of yours is older, and so the probes shouldn't be that expensive. I see $41 for a standard 1x/10x probe at 100Mhz. Your scope is only rated for 60 Mhz if I understand the specs I just Googled (that's a good range), so a 100Mhz probe will work well for you.

If you are buying probes, I'd buy new instead of used - o-scope probes can get pretty beat up sometimes. If you can snag used ones for free, then do it, but if you have to lay out more than $5 or 10, go for the cheap ones from ProbeMaster.

Buy a spare or two at that price - accidents do happen like rolling over the probe with your desk chair or pulling the wire out of the probe when it got caught on a board you were moving. Don't ask me how I know this .
