Sound problems on the Q*bert? My guess, at least. I sure love that game but its been several years since I have seen one. It was the Mello Yello ROM version that surfaced about 7 or 8 years ago. I don't know how much truth there is to it but there were supposed to have been only 3 known instances of that ROM version (including that one) at the time. That particular machine had been stuck in a warehouse in Lemon, SD for untold years. The ROMs had printed Gottlieb labels that said Mello Yellow on them. The difference for those that don't know is that during the intermissions between levels, Q*bert flies (on a disc) up to a giant can of Mello Yellow and drinks through a straw using his nose. Apparently, Gottlieb and Coke were owned by the same parent company at the time. It was a marketing ploy that never really got off the ground.

That machine was recently sold in the for sale forum. I would think it was that machine, as the dude was in one of the Dakotas and had an original Mello Yello Qbert. It was a few months back. I considered grabbing it, but mort up in Canada grabbed it.

Probably not the same one. The one I speak of was E-bayed not long after it was discovered (after being hauled back to Nebraska). I don't know who got it though.

Very cool Flynn... that means 2 more saved from the landfill.

That's the way I look at it... Q bert does need restoration - but when I got it it was just a pile of crap... the GP was on its way to the landfill - missing the control panel and monitor bezel - not working etc...
I spent an hour cleaning it up and getting it working - found a local guy that had the parts I needed - 30 bucks later I have a working GP
