Got this last night. Been looking for a looooong time for the perfect cabinet/deal/seller/proximity, etc.
 
Hey, what's the deal with the two cabinet designs????

One has the bezel leaning in, and the other has it leaning out.

The leaning out version isn't very natural feeling when you look inside it. I saw both kinds last night and noticed that Phet has the opposite version of the one I got. What's the deal with that?

Oh, is that what that is??

Does the anti-glare kit add the speaker grill to the top and then lean the marquee forward instead of in??

It's amazing how people only read or retain what pertains to them at that moment in time. The antiglare kit gets discussed earlier in the same thread you post your 'My Score!' pic in, and then you ask about the differences in bezel angles, as if that part of the thread didn't exist. I also note that people seem to prefer or 'brag up' whatever version THEY have. Don't have the anti-glare kit? Then it sucks. Have the anti-glare kit? Then it's the greatest thing ever. Jim looks to be having fun with it, and I do too:

I saw both last night and I'm sorry the angle on the anti-glare version is non-natural. You can't lean your head into the cabinet. I'm sure I could find one of the kits if I wanted to be like you. No need to brag it up, I realize now that it was a kit and could be obtained.:)

And yes, I didn't read every post in this thread.

Here's the diagram showing the speaker grille that is added on the top.

You can get your hands further in. Anything that you can get your hands further into has always been a good thing. You so wish you were me. But alas, you are Johnny Hotcakes, and I am Phetty Sixpence, and you'll just have to live with that.

The "grill" you speak of is just the new bracket that instead of just holding the marquee bottom, it also hold the top of the bezel. It MAY have some holes drilled in it... I am not sure... but that's all it is.

The speaker remains exactly where it was to begin with.

I completely understand. It is a speaker grill, which also holds the bottom of the bezel, it has holes in it, and is designed for the sound to escape.

I have something hanging here for you with holes in it, but it is designed for you not to be able to escape. It's made of leather and is accented with chains. When shall I expect you?

You didn't steal that from the Campus Lounge did you? I thought I remembered seeing one of those in the private private privates room.
 
What's everyone's opinion on the different AD ROM versions?

Or do you guys even know about that ;-)

I have the EASY roms in mine. I have yet to dip switch over to the harder ROM version. I didn't realize it existed until I read the TG settings. I also found some Atari MEMO talking about how to change over to hard from easy and vice versa. I think it uses the normally unused dip switch (6?). I'll try to find the memo.

I guess the way to tell if you have the easy installed is to check to see if you have 4 asteroids on the first level and the larger UFO. If you do, that's the easy rom set.

The harder set starts with 6 Asteroids and the small UFO. This is the TG settings.
