What a great looking and fun game to play. Thanks Atari. That is all.

Isn't this the 3rd or 4th "I love my Asteroids Deluxe" post from you?

I felt it was 'time' to praise this fine machine again. This place has gotten more boring than trying to screw a coffee can behind the White House woodshed. Maybe I should have started an "I'm angry and having a another Bad Day Thread"?

Where did you get that blue stool?

He ate a smurf.

In my opinion AD is better looking than a color vector. With the blue overlay, it almost feels like the blacklight has an effect on the monitor. It's my favorite too, I keep going back to it more than any other game.

Agreed. My Tempest will be cleaned up and put back together this Saturday. It will then be gently placed next to my Deluxe in my Outer Limits Room. I really can't think of a better 1-2 vector combo than AD and Tempest. Can You?

I know you weren't asking me, but no, I cannot...

I haven't played AD since the days of mullets and nuthuggers. I am perfectly happy with my Asteroids UR, but maybe I'll check out a Deluxe soon to see what all the hub bub is about.

I played it for my FIRST TIME EVAR at bungy's place last weekend. I totally dug how the screen image is like Omega Race, in that there's a fixed background and then the gaming part is like a hologram.

It is a cool game, but the roots go deep with me playing heritage Asteroids so, it will probably never find its way in my lineup.

Anyone prefer the original bezel to the anti-glare kit? I have always wondered how the original set-up played. I really like the anti-glare kit, but I have never played it the other way. Can anyone who has played both weigh in for me?

Oh I still love the original, but I had both side by side for over a year and the Asteroids just sat un-played. Something about the blacklight and blue overlay just makes AD more appealing.

I love how cold the original feels, like no one can hear you scream in space.....

AD lost it for me with the addition of the "killer satellite" I really just enjoy busting big rocks into smaller rocks and then blowing those rocks into even smaller rocks then destroying the even smaller rocks alltogether, occaisionally being interupted by an alien spaceship....all while listening to the Jaws theme..... ;)

I agree. Asteroids Deluxe and Tempest are my two favorite vectors.

Popular combo. These are the first two I usually play when I turn my games on. For me, the only thing that could usurp Tempest would be Quantum. Who knows if that'll ever happen in my arcade, but I have an empty spot I'm saving for it.
