Does anyone know what the recommended angle for Gorgar is? I haven't found it mentioned in any of the PDF manuals I've found. I finally got around to buying a digital level today. The default angle, measured on the PF glass, was about 3.3 degrees with all the leg levelers set as low as possible. I raised it to 4.3...the highest the new levelers would go. It plays well there, but I'd like to know the "official" angle. In case I decide to get serious about TG scores or whatever. Thanks.

I don't think there was an 'official' angle back then, never seen it mentioned in any of the manuals from that era. Just set it up where you like it, and go crazy.

Personally, I feel that early solid state Williams like to play fast. So wax it up nice and slick, and set it as steep as you can while still being able to hit 'the pit' reliably.

Measure the angle on the playfield, not on the glass.

I am not sure of the spot but there IS a sweet spot. I used to have it all the way up in back and all the way down in front, played so-so. Then I raised the front by about half, nothing but drain, drain, drain. Took the front back down a bit and it is perfect. Play around with it and you will find the spot. If you can hit that spinner with the left flipper and it just goes and goes. Then you have it. Good luck!

Adjusting the EOS on the flippers a bit gave me bit more power too, it might help

Mine played supper slow with the back all the way up and the front all the way down. I think putting a 2x4 under the back legs would do wonders...just my opinion.

Hey, finally got back to this. Thanks for all the suggestions. I raised it to about 5.3 degrees using 2x4 blocks in the back. Plays faster for sure. Can stilll hit the Pit reliably. I measured it on the glass because taking the glass out is a *pain*. I really feel like I'm going to break it just getting it to release from the back side. But now I'm going to have to fix some stuff, so I'll measure the angle on the PF while the glass is out.

Now the G-O-R targets are broken. When I hit all three they stay down and don't register. Got a bad switch or faulty chip someplace. Gotta trouble shoot that. But now that the table is truly down, I can finally start learning how the thing works and fixing the little annoyances. So I guess that's um, good?

First up: fix the displays. Player 3 and 4 displays are a little scrambled. And one of the digits fades out sometimes, I think on player 1 and 3. Last night I traced the scrambling to a bad 7180 on the master display board. Anyone know where to buy a UDN7180A?

After I get all the issues fixed, I need to bullet proof the game. Are there any standard lists for Gorgar? Also, I need to clean/wax the playfield. Anyone have a favorite noob guide to recommend?

Best repair guides that are available, which both do a great job in the system 6 era, are....

and

The drop targets, do they register being hit, just not registering that all 3 are down? Probably just a busted wire on the all-down chain on the target slider boards.

The UDN-7180A? In all honesty, I wish you the best of luck. They are hard to find, and about $20 each. Repairing displays very quickly gets expensive.
