Gorgar .... Another issue found.

Was it the 7408 or the 6821 ? That burned up the board worse than most I have seen outside the special solenoid section.

Another things I have seen is moving a game and the interboard connector can lead to this.

maybe you can help me with the Yukon machine i am having trouble with,,, i started
a thread for that too.

On games of this era, I often see where a diode on the coil has broken free or failed and the reverse voltage formed by the magnetic field collapsing pops the tip122 or tip102 transistor. Most often the failure results in a lock on, but I have seen it fail open as well.

i believe you, the scenario is this machine was sitting in a basement owned
by two woman that worked in a church. it hasnt been turned on in a very long time.
i noticed that ball capture had been taped off with tape and foam to prevent the ball
from entering that area. So i think this machine had a problem with the coil
first.. then blew the board out.

i'm leaning more towards the battery goop that seeped into the 40 pin interconnect.

then theres this.. because it sat for a very long time lol.
but i think they were still using it with a messed up coil at first

Tonight i get to take apart the "G O R " drop targets because they are going down slow.

Yup, you are getting into pinballs deeper and deeper.

Dude that room is a crowded mess again,, when i can clear some room out im gonna
work on it again. I dont wanna be searching round the room for tools lol.
on a lighter note, i found those 3 extra k7000 chassis.
Sold one.. gonna send the other two to you.

Those flasher bulbs under the play field.. whats the replacement for those?

Also ,, the two big bastards under "The Pit" plastic are out.
anybody know the replacement for those two bigger bulbs?
(bottom left of my playfield pic)

Got the machine running, all the blown lights changed.. the rubbers and stuffs.

Noticed a burned out part.. its like a resisitor or diode on a small board near the "Pit" under the playfield. Brypten mentions it might be a flasher board.
part burnt out in the middle

Another issue is the rollover at the top of the playfield " A "
B and C register , A does not.

The ball drain on the far right.. marked "5000 points" doesnt register..

Oddly both these switches have the same color code on the wires.
Video of switches ..

Location of burnt out part.

Ok , Me and Brypten tackled the machine once again..
Success.. it was a shitty connection to the roll over switch.

Druiscrews has been silently helping me through PMs , he's a good dude.

I can now play gorgar 100% ..

How would i set the machine up in the game room btw?
I mean, i have a level and stuff but what angle does this machine like to be leveled at?

I have a stellar wars I just picked up and wondered this myself, after reading people suggested 3.5 degrees or similar. In the end I decided on 6.7 as it made that game play much faster.
