Gorgar 98% working on last issue

No they are not subs. I might suggest you NEVER use Rat Shack as a resource for anything but the most basic of parts, if at all.

I know you are understandably anxious, I have already sent your mail. I included two each of both transistors, a 7406, and a socket. You should probably have everything by Friday, Saturday at the latest.

So I made some progress ChrisM sent me some parts and I replaced q61 and q57. I noticed that 57 was burnt on the underside of the board so I replaced it. Played ten games and no lamp issues. however I still noticed the star glowing just faintly but its hardly visible now and the other lights are staying off.

Finally I just need to figure out why my left upper most bumper cap doesnt light when the drop targets are down even though it lights during attract mode. The flippers are still giving me some grief they have fluid movement but dont carry the ball up to the top of the playfield easily.

Thanks Chris! I appreciate the hookup.

Here is another one why would the bridge rectifier be sparking when the flipper buttons are pressed in game?

WHICH bridge rectifier? And what do you mean by sparking? At the contacts/where the wires attach?

The flippers in general consume a good deal of current, any resistance to that current will be met with some sparking (think dirty flipper switch contacts), but a bridge rectifier? Need to know more.

Chris

Yes at the contacts where the quick connects attach to the bridge. There are two bridge rectifiers next to the transformer the one with the tabs spark. Im still learning so please forgive me if I sound stupid I do catch on quick though. Im wondering if this is why Im not getting the correct voltage to the flippers and why they dont fire the ball up the playfield. Voltages are between 15 and 25 shouldnt they be 50?

No worries on the learning part, we all start somewhere. The flippers on early games are not 50V, so you should be running around 40V.

How about all your contacts at the flipper switches and the cabinet switches? All clean? I might think it a good idea to change out (those) bridges, if they are sparking that is definitely a bad sign.

What I did not know from your previous question is that the flippers were not working, you just said that the bridge was sparking when the buttons were hit.

I also do not know the condition of your coils or the diodes across the coil contacts.

Chris

The flippers do work their just weak as shit gotta hit the ball right on the tip to reach the top of the playfield. Ive completely rebuilt them and replaced all the switches on the cabinet. I figure it is probably a voltage issue. I also replaced the cap on the power board that drives the flippers and still they are weak. They appear to function correctly but don't hit the ball very hard.

Like I said I just noticed the contact spark when the flipper is engaged and was wondering what the hell could be wrong now.
