What size are they and where do you get them? Also, do they sell the little sockets for the rank bulbs that go under the bezel?

The bulbs can be bought at advanced auto.
The sockets might be available from auto parts stores too...maybe in the "help" section. Alot of 70-80's instrument cluster used these. Dodge/Plymouth A body specifically. I have a bin full of these out in one of my garages.

Cool. I have 4 of these trigger bulbs, all 4 must be dead. As for the bulb sockets, 3 of the 6 have one tab broken off. All 6 bulbs work, and I used small pieces of copper wire bent and shoved into one side of the socket to make continuity. It works for now, but I'd love new sockets. Thanks Rip.

They are a #74 bulb....a #73 will also work (I'm sure there's others, these I know off the top of my head).

I will go out to the garage tomorrow and see what I can find. I might have some of the small joystick bulbs here too, cant remember if I used them all or not.
Do a continuity check on the bulbs. They blow out often but the sockets loose their tension too. I had to bend the tabs out on mine to keep them working all the time.

I used led based lamps...

Superbrightleds

The pain in the rear with these is that the contact pad for the led is only on one side of the PCB... and unfortunately its the wrong side for the gorf socket... I had to add a piece of wire to each contact pad and wrap it around the pcb to work...

The red ones look real good, its a nice even red glow... and they are cooler than incandescent.

I put LEDs in my stick... just needed to add a current limiting resistor -- make sure you do wide-angle leds though, or the illumination is too specular.

LED's would be a great alternative.
Phet, im going to take a look for the bulb holders today and let you know what I have. I have two new joystick bulbs leftover from the last 3 gorfs I put together. I also know I have a complete rank light assembly here thats just missing one bulb holder. Im thinking $20 shipped for the whole assembly.

I have the stick apart right now, it is rusty than hell. Surprisingly, the rubber centering grommet/gasket is in very nice shape. Does someone have an exploded view of the stick? I think I may be missing a piece or 2.
