Been spending a lot of quality time with a bunch of Gorf boards. I had several RGB boards that didn't work. The symptom was no blue or no red. After pulling and testing the onboard IC as good and then methodically testing each resistor and traces for continuity I realized that the problem was the 270ns delay paper tubes.

If you check the resistance of the outer legs on the long side you should get about 33 ohms on one side and then about .1 on the other side. If you get something like 2M ohms then there is probably a broken wire.

You can carefully peel back the tape and see if you can find the break --- near the solder joint on the two I looked at. I took my soldering iron and burned off the varnish/insulation and then tinned the wire and patched in some kynar wire to repair it.

I was able to get two of these tubes repaired to yield a working RGB board. Then I wrapped the repair in good blue 3M painter's tape. Hopefully this repair will hold up.
