I filmed this a couple of week's ago when I visited Gregbl's arcade (FLUX CAPACITOR) in suburban Chicago. Greg, thanks again for having me, your collection rocks!

Anyways, here's a little review of GORF. It's one of those games that I have considered owning a few times but have never been able to pull the trigger on it. Not sure... :)

Check it out:

I don't mean to sound like Paul Giamatti here, but are you chewing gum?!

Awesome video, though. I love the Gorf marquee & CP. So cool.

Yeah. I was in this video session. Never again! Huge mistake! D'oh!

Awesome review as always. Love the Black Hole reference. Gotta be atleast 32 to understand that one. haha

What are you waiting for? I have this one and it's probably in my personal top 5 list. I will say it doesn't get much love from guests, but I sure enjoy it.

You might tell your buddy he's missing some sounds from his game. Sounds like he has an audio channel out. Probably a problem with the amp. I have a Gorf video somewhere in my channel, he should be able to tell pretty quickly what sounds he's missing.

Thanks, I'll look that up! That's my machine! I wasn't aware that any sounds were missing.

Check to see if you have sound from both speakers. Each has it's own audio channel, certain sounds come from one speaker and other sounds from the other speaker. There should be 2 volume pots on the amp, one for each speaker. Try adjusting those. If that doesnt work and you still have missing sounds you either have a problem with the amp or a blown or disconnected speaker.

Excellent, thanks! I'll look into to that shortly. I've been working on my Ice Cold Beer restoration recently, but I'll make a note of it and look at Gorf sometime soon.

Hopefully it is something simply like a volume set low for one speaker or a dead speaker. If not, I'll be hunting down someone that works on the amp boards.

Thanks,
Greg

No, no, no, it was and is widely regarded as one of the worst movies Disney ever made.

I did build all three robot models (wish I still had them) but the movie....is, difficult to sit through. The basic premise of going "through" a "black hole" which was even back then commonly known to not be a hole of any kind, and even as a kid I knew that from school - makes the whole thing just bad.

Of course, digitally converting yourself into 8 bit computer code and traveling into video games (that back in the 1980's were not technically connected via network or internet anyway) is about as believable as Black Hole travel.

Well, when Black Hole came out I was like 7 years old and some of my friends had the toys. So, to me it seemed like a big deal! :)

I thought the robot was so cool!

this movie is bad ass.

I love the Black Hole. The only thing I love more is knowing that the late Ernesto Borgnine was in it. I saw that movie in the theatre as a 6 or 7 year old. Slim Pickins and Ernesto MADE that movie.

Black Hole shoulda had Fred Macmurray in it. I've never seen it, but I think I'd want to watch it more then.

Nah. Tron was way bigger than The Black Hole. The Black Hole was hobbled by the characters, and dime-store CGI and special effects.
