GORF restore, from Time Pilot conversion

Here are the results of my 2 month effort to return this GORF back to life. Here's the list of things I did:

Parts acquired: PCB, Marquee, joystick, bezel, wiring harness, control panel wiring harness, RGB board, Rank board, Sound/test switch board.

Cabinet
New base laminate
Strip and repaint blue paint
Apply white star field
New side art
New matching lock set
New t-molding (required recutting one off-center slot)
Cleaned/straightened/clear coated all aluminum molding
Cleaned/painted screens on back door
New adjustable feet

Control Panel
New overlay
Flat black pain on bottom side
New buttons
Rebuilt joystick with proper optical board (no leafs)
Cleaned carriage bolt heads
New lights in joystick
New stainless bolts in joystick
Added proper cardboard protector plate on optical board


Monitor
Cap kit
Reflow header pins on all boards
Adjust deflection

Coin door
Paint
Clean carriage bolts, chrome coin slots

Other
Everything (cab, wiring, inside, etc) cleaned twice with vinegar solution
Added molex 4-way for easier speaker disconnect
New power board connector
Added Y connection on power board connector to better balance load
Corrected grounding problems
New fluorescent bulbs
New power cord
Installed proper power board mount (front piece was missing)
All wiring tags retained, PCB config card stapled inside game as original

The control panel was definitely the worst part of this restore. Bolts were frozen and needed to be tapped out, parts were hard to come by, the aluminum overlay caused binding with the gaskets around the base. It seemed like every time I had to do something with it I was taking almost everything apart. Over ... and over ... and over.

But, I've got a clean game now that it's all said and done. I tried to put everything back to original including wiring tags, PCB settings card, "C" molding on the control panel and bezel and marquee.

I upgraded to fluorescent lights to hopefully run a little cooler. So, other than that and the Y wiring improvement I think this is pretty much how it would have come from the factory.

Thanks to everyone here who helped with advice and parts!!! This site really makes it possible for those of us who have some skill to tackle things beyond what we know.

Good job, liked the way it turned out. Still in the beginning stages of my restore. Can I ask where you found the following items.

proper power board mount (front piece was missing)
power board connector, Mine has been hacked up
stainless bolts in joystick
matching lock set
White short leaf buttons
