Why replace the power supply? The old supplies are dead easy to fix.

Also, in your picture, the power supply is still installed. One of the transformers, however, is missing.

I agree with Retro, just get yourself a working original PS. Less hassle with connector changing and it's kept more original. I've seen them come up on the for sale board fairly often.

The transformer is not bad. They RARELY fail.

You don't need an original power supply, you already have one. Just repair it. It's a dead simple linear regulated supply. It probably just needs some new caps, a couple replacement diodes (the ones in the 5V section get crispy), and the connector headers resoldered. Then, you'll probably want to replace the transformer connector in the wiring harness, the center tap pin always burns off.

It will likely need a new molex connector for the power supply, there are a couple pins that always burn on the gorfs.

Yeah, it's the lower pin on that connector, it's the center tap of the transformer. Interestingly enough, the pin just next to it isn't populated, but is connected to the same trace on the board. So, when you replace it, populate both pins and connect them both to the same wire. Helps to spread the load over two pins so it won't burn up again.

Definitely repair the original and do not put in a switcher. I tried it and went back to the original because the game starts to re-set randomly. I researched the problem on RGVAC & the information as to why is out there if you look for it.
Here's the link to Bob Robert's PS4011 map:http://www.therealbobroberts.net/90411.jpg
I'm pretty sure I got a rebuild kit from him, but it was a while ago.

Dokert is right. On Gorf, it's all about those connectors.:)

I run my Gorf cocktail off an old computer power supply. Works fine for me.

Those are the diodes I was talking about. You can replace them with any standard 5A rectifier diodes. The rebuild kit from Bob Roberts includes these, or you may buy some at Radio Shack or similar.

another querstion LOL
ok now that i can get them and solder them on, do i have to do anything else because the actual board has a bit of burn, can i just clean it off???
what should i use? thanks again!

The charred marks on the board are unimportant provided that you make a good connection with the traces on the board. If the traces themselves are damaged, you will have to patch them up with little bits of wire or something.
