when i turn gorf on i get get a bunch of lines as the pic below shows. now, the lines are always there on all screens. when ya start a game, your ship instanly blows up. you can still get a few shots off as you can see in the pic i did score some points. all game sounds are there and such also. every once in awhile the lines partly go away....sort of.... they basically become black lines instead of white..... but, when that happens then you can play the game with no probs and it will stay that way until ya turn the game off. turn it back on and the lines are back.

now, this was with the pcb set that came with the game but it started after i got the game. i discovered a broken leg on 1 of the eproms on the rom/ram board.

so i buy another working board set off another klover figuring it was just my set. get this set and it does the same dang thing.

ok, maybe it's a power prob. check all the volts goin to the cage. they were a smidge higher than they should be at 5.19 on the +5's. so i hooked up a switcher and set the volts and such. now, at 5.00 i got nothing at all.

at 5.10 i get a darkish space invaders screen but all screens past that are normal looking.... but with lines of course.

at 5.20 the screen gets a bit brighter on the 1st screen but everything else is the same

at 5.30 all the screens are correct but the lines were still there

at 5.40 the lines went away.....well, went black anyway.... but it is playable

left game on at that setting overnight to see what would happen. checked it this morn and all was fine still...... cool beans..... unplug and move it over to it's spot in line. plug it back in and the lines are back.....ugh. tinker with the power and can't get the lines to go away. i'm stumped. even hooked an unhooked all connections figuring it may be that.... nope.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to agree with RAM. Mark Spaeth has a cool little utility that you write to an EPROM, swap into the EPROM board, then it tests the RAM cards to tell you where you may have issues.

Its on this page:

Yep, bet it's one of the 2 smaller ram cards. I had one with bad solder joints. If you put some pressure on the board it would clear up and work. Try switching the two around and see if theirs any change. Also look at the edge connector in the bottom of the cage where the board pluges into and make sure theirs no dust bunnies caught in the slot causing a bad connection. I just fixed mine, had a reset problem, turned out to be the ROM board. If you have a known working board set then replace the boards one at a time to find the bad board. Thats the great thing about a card system. :)
