Found this Gorf a few weeks ago, from an old laundromat. It's been sitting in the building for at least 12 years. They had a Ms. Pacman that they sold for $100 in working condition (the weekend prior to me finding this place :( ) But for $35 bucks I had to pick this up...It'll make a nice restore project.

you found that in a laundrymat in chester?

good find!

the only thing i found in chester was trouble(women) lol

i miss va!

Nice score! Don't worry about missing the Ms. Pac - Gorf is a much better game, if you ask me :)

The cabinet looks pretty clean - excellent score for $35.

What's up with the joystick? Is that the original one with the handle ripped off, or is that just a crane game stick with the button on the top? Hard to tell from the pictures.

Actually it was a Laundrymat in petersburg. I remember that place when I was a kid (18 years ago when it was opened it had a separate room with 10+ arcade games.) Galaga, popeye, ms pacman etc. The joystick isn't original. Some kind of hybrid, an original joystick would have been nice but I'm not complaining.

Great price. The only issue you will have with the restore is the inner side artwork. There are no repros for that.

I had a couple spares of that but couldnt find it last time I looked.

Joystick looks like a crane machine stick. Is the boardset in there? You got a great deal for $35!

Definitely a great haul for the price. The synthesized voice is great. I haven't had that game in a long time. Only reason I got rid of it was that I was able to get a ton of money for it. Fun game for sure. I should get one again.

Nice find, especially for the price! I guess I am in the minority since GORF is not on eof my favorites, but at that price I would definally have one!

Great find!

What a great find, esp for that price! Paid well over $200 for mine and still had to do repair on the machine.

If you're looking for a working stick/harness, PM me.

Riptor: Yea the PCB cage is there with all the boards, and the smaller Aux. boards throughout the inside of the cab. I plan on making a post in the repair forum on how to test the power supply, etc. on this.

I never even heard of Gorf but again for $35 I couldn't pass it up seeing as how cool it looks.

and petersburg....wow you really did rescue it!

i miss friendly's in chester!

(petersburg va is a dieing city)

Wow!

I never played Gorf back in the day, never saw it in the arcades, just Galaxian and Galaga. But I have come to appreciate it, and that is an amazing find for $35!!!

Ah yes, for me it was the Fishamajig platter followed by the Reese's Pieces Sundae. Dunno about the arcade games either.
