When my GORF has been on for just a few minutes it appears to crash - the screen goes garbled and it makes weird noises. I have checked and reseated the boards and cant see any obvious issues but did notice that there are no heatsinks on U3 and U15 which i have read can be an issue.

I only got the machine a couple of days ago and totally replaced the wiring as it had been wired up for jamma and hacked about but everything appeared to go well and as the machine boots up fine i cant see that being the issue.

any and all advice appreciated, as would be help on where to get suitable heatsinks as i have looked around and cant find any...

Those are the 2 40-pin chips, right ? They do get very hot and I suspect that's
why so many of them fail.

I probably have a couple I could pull off from bad chips. IM me if you're
interested and I'll check next time I'm at the place that I have the boards.
