GORF cabinet is stuck on test screen, replaced power supply

The back interlock has three positions. Pulled out, natural off and under pressure when door is closed.
I have the door fully closed and locked however doesn't have any power .. I can only play if it's pulled out with the door closed… I think it's a little out of place so might have to move it around

Did you mean pulled out with the door OPEN? And we're talking the BACK door, not the COIN door, correct?

Just looking to confirm.

The Back door closed with the switch in the pulled out position

It won't turn on the normal way where the back door is putting pressure on the switch but only when the switch is pulled out

I see so not much to worry then, still unusual for the jittery screen and the test switch, the screen isn't badly shaking to the point it's unplayable just something to look out for in the future. Both issues doesn't ruin the game play just hope it doesn't mess something up in the future quickly

Speaking of that anyone have any recommendations to keep it running well in the long term and anything I should replace? I know I have to change out the control panel since it's worn out.

I saw you could mod the joystick but mine works and lights up fine so that's something if it ever stops working

I don't think I'll be wanting a high score save kit as of now, im not super into scores just love playing it!

If there's anything else please suggest I could add or replace!

I always thought the jittery screen was my monitor. That's just how the game is. I built one of those FPGA Gorf boards and the jitter was gone.

K4600?

Unfortunately wasn't able to check currently not at home but will let you know when I'm back in a few hours.

If that's the case with the jittery I'll leave it be!

C621 is an additional part needed along with the cap kit and the thorough rework of, well, everything, as I demonstrated

Ough a lot to work on for me, maybe someday if im more confident I'll work with those monitors but most likely will leave it be unless something happens to it… I'm pretty happy on how it runs for now!

Are you sure the switch is correct?

Turning "Test" on should be moving the switch to the right. That turns the test on.

Normal game play it is moved to the left

Regardless, someone could have soldered it wrong. As long as one side is test and the other is game play who cares.

Ahhh I was reading it wrong then, yes it plays the game normally when it's on the Left side my mistake

Hey all! It's been awhile, everything still smoothly going, I just have a small questions that I'm a tad worried. Is it normal for this cabinet or in general other cabinets to create a popping noise every 10 seconds? I do hear the flyback pretty noisy but every 10 seconds or so I hear a popping noise where the marquee is at, sometimes it takes longer than 10 seconds and shorter than 10 seconds. I haven't fully checked inside where the marquee is at but I'm guessing it's using non leds since it's producing bit of heat when you're near it, any ideas what it could be?

GORF uses tubular incandescent lamps for all cabinet lighting. Not sure what would be causing the popping noise other than a loose connection that is arcing on one of the lamp sockets.

If that's the case is it pretty dangerous letting it do that constantly? I don't have it on all the time just a few 10 minutes and off, hopefully will have time soon to check it inside
