I've had this issue a few times on my gorf. Can't recall what the problem is. The game functions fully, however there are jailbar lines that come up on the screen (it is not a monitor issue). Anyone have a similar problem and can ID the board in the cage I need to replace?

Thank you!

Yellow lines on the screen that cause your ship to explode instantly?

Bad RAM chip on one of the cards. There are two RAM cards in the cage, and they're interchangeable. Mark made a wonderful test ROM that checks the RAM and helps you find the bad chip to replace. You can download it on ionpool.

I don't think it makes you explode, but I'll double check. It looks to be a display issue that does not affect gameplay.

Generally when someone has a problem with lines on the screen in Gorf, it's the vertical yellow ones caused by a bad RAM chip. This screws with the collision detection, and you die instantly, as the ship is invariably right under one of the lines. It's possible to have flickering yellow vertical lines that don't affect gameplay that are also caused by faulty RAM.

Wizard of Wor uses the same RAM boards and suffers the same problems. The RAM boards are the two smaller ones in the cage - you can always try swapping them and see if the problem changes at all.
