There are two 'Goonies' Arcade games listed on this site, but I wanted everyone to know of one other that isn't listed.

There isn't really any information out there about it, but I can firsthand testify that I did in fact see it at the Cedar Point Amusement Park (Sandusky, Ohio) many years ago when I was a teenager.

It was in the back closer to the older machines, and as far as I know, it isn't in the arcade now (The old dance hall building which has the largest games on site), unless it was placed in another out of the way place.)

Anyway, it was neither one listed here, but it was by Nintendo and it was based off the computer version of the Goonies found on the C64 and other models which consisted of at least five different screens in which you guided a Goonie or Goonies to the end of the room. Each room represented pretty much a scene from the movie and if you are familiar with the computer version you would know what I am referring to, ending with the pirate ship on the last screen.

Does anyone have any further info on this? I know what I saw and who licensed it. (Nintendo.)

Thanks!

Yes, there was a Vs. version of goonies, and a version for the Playchoice 10... but from the sounds of it this is a different Goonies game altogether. Never saw it in the wild back in the day, I always saw the Goonies version with the doors you'd bomb which was different than Goonies II on the NES.

Never heard of an arcade version of this Goonies but I know the game you are talking about. I had it on my Atari 800xl. It rocked.

And, yes.. the PC-10 and Nintendo Vs. versions are both Goonies 1 that was never released on the NES but was released in Japan on the Famicom.

Blkdog7 is right, it definitely was the version released on the older computers. I saw and played an old version on an emulator to know this. (The original C64 or Atari, not the Arcade.)

I have the Goonies II by Konami for the NES and I played the Goonies for the Famicom on an emulator.

So altogether released for the arcade were as follows:

Goonies (Playchoice 10); Vs. Goonies; and The Goonies (C64/Atari etc) version by Nintendo.

This is probably confusing, but it did exist I know I seen it.
