maybe, maybe not. Fullthrottle was also there with another collector. Not sure which of the two would have gotten it. But yeah one of these two would have gotten it had jehuie not grabbed it.

Probably. Possibly others went in between us and never piped up. Unlikely I guess. But it probably would not have been kept quiet for long. Someone would have piped up about it and it would have been a whole different drama...but drama for sure. :)

I would burn it. I'd film it while it's burning. Then i would film it, burning, as it goes off the roof of a building.

Did you drop it off already? I meant to ask you if I could stop by and see the infamous machine in person. I should have not procrastinated on that. :p

No wonder I never understood fully what had happened. After the original thread was locked and re-opened why was it not still in the "general" section? It takes way too much time just to keep up with the FS and G posts.

Don't know yet. Supposed to rain. A lot.

My family went to Disneyland in December 1994-January 1995 and it was POURING the whole time.

Main St. was more like a river, and the river was overflowing on to where they usually do the seating for Fantasmic.

No line for Splash Mountain... or almost any other ride for that matter.

The trip didn't end well, as we had a major accident on the way home on the 5th of January...

Hah, I haven't posted here in about 6 months.. I find it funny that the first thing I see is this thread. Nice to know there was some sort of conclusion.

I'll never forget the "IT IS NOW MADE OF PURE CRYSTAL METH AND MUST BE DESTROYED" Conversation. I laughed for a good while at that.

glad to see that this episode has come to what seems to be a satisfactory conclusion. also glad to see the machine will end up with a collector who'll likely see that it gets the attention it deserves. thanks for the update, i was beginning to wonder if we'd ever find out what happened.

Well on that note, I never should have taken the game to begin with. I acknowledge that and so I feel no negativity toward the others who were trying to get ahold of it. I did for a while but I've let it go. And looking back on it, I wasn't justified to feel that way anyway. The game belonged to someone else and he got what he wanted out of it and sold it to who he wanted.

Although I do wonder where it would be right now if I had never stopped in that little @#!*% hole....

That would be easy to answer. Damon, ken or greg would have gotten it... The building is still there. It will be there next year too...

The way I see it, justice was done. One of the guys who tried to get it LEGALLY, got it. The guy who owned it got paid a fair price for his property. Thats a good ending.

I guess crime still pays, as jehuie is getting a free ride at disneyland out of greg for his troubles.

aww come on man. i'm glad the owner got some money, but his place was abandoned - he didn't give a crap about it.

The greater good that was done was saving a rare game that should be preserved.

Anyhow before this thread de-rails, i'm glad it all got sorted.

Well, Disneyland could be considered a "delivery fee" compensation. CA gas isn't cheap, and time does have a value......all of which is independent of said crime.

I don't think the thread will derail. Everyone can be civil about it and I'm thinking they will be.

To be clear...the Disneyland tickets are in exchange for delivering the game. Loading it up and driving it from the Bay Area to Pasadena. Not for the game itself. I never expected or asked for cash for the game. There were many offers for cash along the way but since it did not belong to me I didn't even entertain them.

Interestingly, we ended up wanting to add a couple days to the single-day Greg offered. It turns out that the two day pass is not that much more than the one day pass so he's really saving us about $100 off the weekend. :) It's kind of funny actually. But....we do get to go to Club 33 which is setting him back considerably more than that. It all works out in the end.

Jehuie,
Congrats on it working out without any real negative bullshit sent your way.

I said it in the old post, and I'll say it again.....I don't think you did anything wrong....screw the haters!:D

How did you manage to get in there? I thought that was next to impossible......

Sorry in advance for the thread hijack John, but just want to share about Club 33 because it's so awesome and you'll really enjoy it.

They stopped accepting membership applications years ago. At the time, I believe it was a few grand a year and it was like a 10 year waiting list. Not entire sure, but it was something crazy like that. All I know is that you have to have an existing membership or get in through a corporate membership.

My wife works at Chevron and she gets us into Club 33 through their corporate membership. It's actually a really good deal. We pay $80 a person and it includes: reservation and dinner at Club 33 and a park hopper ticket. So not only do we get tickets and dinner at Club 33, we save about $30 per ticket (Park hoppers are like $110 now I think).

It's really overwhelming being in there. The only sad part is Walt Disney died before he could actually see it completed. It was a place he was hoping to wine and dine his personal friends and guests while they were in the park. It's awesome. There's all kinds of collectibles and art that Mr. and Mrs. Disney collected over the years. They even have the piano that was in Mary Poppins in front of the bar.

Congrats on resolving this (relatively) unscathed. While it is reprehensible that the original owner was allowed to let it rot (along with the rest of his property) maybe some good will come of it now that the "proper" authorities are aware of the condition of the buildings and will either force the owner to clean them up or do it for him. Naaaaa! It is too easy to just ignore it and pretend that it doesn't exist.
