Considering trading my Getaway for a Southpark..

I know...Sega.....Meh...williams is better....

But would it be an equal trade??

Tnx!

I like Southpark the show, but do not care for the pin. I'd keep Getaway. Still I think that Southpark is worth more money wise, so you could always sell it off for profit if you end up not liking it.

I don't know if southpark is worth more. If so its not by much. I think getaway would sell easier. southpark is rated at 242 on pinside and 299 on ipdb. getaway is at 36 on pinside and 22 on ipdb.

Getaway over Southpark, have owned SP and played Geteway a lot. SP is fun for about 5 games.

I'll admit Williams has some great titles, but there are a lot of great Sega pins for half the price. Maybe it's just the time period growing up, but I love my Sega pins....SP being the exception, lol.

About equal value. The Getaway is a better game though if you are not just looking for silly fun. Some of the callouts are a little over the top with SP if you have kids.

I don't really care about their rankings, after all, they think Cirqus Voltaire is a good game. but The Getaway is head and shoulders above anything that Data East/Sega/Stern have ever made, lifetime. I also question if the 2 games are of equal value as well, that sounds a little suspect.

if you want a serious game, keep The Getaway. if you want something that will give you a few chuckles and you can bop around senselessly, get South Park.

I agree the rankings are not that important. If they were within 20 of eachother, I would consider the rankings the same. Personally, I would not put getaway in my top 40. but when most people think it's significantly better, it says something about the pin and about its possible resale value.

I owned the Getaway and didn't like it very much.

I played a ton of the original High Speed back in the day. This one didn't do it for me.

If you want to put the South Park on route, its about the only scenairio I could see where one would trade a top 40 pin (Getaway) for a bottom 40 pin (South Park). South Park does fairly good on route, mainly among non-pinheads. This is why South Park is not a $1200 game. Serious pin people, for the most part, hold South Park in very low esteem.

Value wise, a South Park sells fairly good at $2000 and a Getaway at $2500.

Play the game a dozen times. If you like it a lot go ahead with the trade......regardless of price/ratings/etc

South Park isn't terrible as people make it out to be. I had it. I liked it more so because my significant would only play that one. Shadow, BSD, JD, are not light hearted games. The presentation on the DMD and the light display on the playfield was well done. The layout is a little easy and the toys are very simple. I thought of PROCing the game and making up a new set of rules for it for awhile but that got pushed aside for other projects. It's biggest weakness is that it only has one shot that is kind of hard. If you put an ohring on the cartman rathole to make it a lot smaller and maybe did something to widen the outlanes or put on lighting flippers, it would be a more difficult game. Lighting flippers wouldn't be that bad, imho. Fishtales with regular flippers is actually a little on the too easy side too.

Keep Getaway

Getaway is worth more and easier to sell. Plus it is more fun.
