Good Steering wheel, 2pos shifter, 1 pedal driving games?

I picked up a Chase HQ cabinet that had a RAM error, and it looks like I won't be able to fix the board. So... what would be a good driving game to convert it to?

Hard to find. From what I learned, the RAM chips are very low quality, and almost always go out. All the ones on eBay are not working. I thought I would take a chance on a "non-tested" board; but that was in even worse shape then the one in the machine.

thought quarter arcade had a working pcb? check there!

You're not going to be able to easily change the game. Have a look at my blog (address below) about how it works. Basically Chase HQ uses a spinner style steering wheel like Arkanoid. Games like Out Run and indeed most other driving games use potentiometers. So you'd have to change the whole thing really.

Send the board in to Eldorado games. eldoradogames.com. they can fix it. It's a cool game don't just give up on it and dont convert it either! there's always something to fix that's just a part of the hobby!

Great 1000 Mile Rally or Great 1000 Mile Rally 2 will work.

Where are you located? I bet you could find a klov person nearby you to replace the bad RAM. That kind of repair is pretty straightforward.

Far NW Chicago 'burbs. The RAM is soldered to the board, also pins 1 & 2 on the jamma edge connector on both sets of boards I have are fried (voltage drop?). I do want to keep it as Chase HQ if I can; the flashing cop lights in the marquee are pretty cool.

i would test voltage between +5 and ground at some chip on the board. Mabye the edge is so fried the chips are only getting 4 volts or something.

Mabye solder some jumpers from the traces of the board to a seperate molex connector and then wire that to the game side of the edge connector and retry? You would effectively ignorre the fried pins that way and be sure you have full power to the boardset.

I had to do something simular with a pole position that smoked the edge connector.
