Good price on an appliance truck -- is it any good?

Way cool, I've been looking for a 4 wheel or swing out hand truck like this!! Good prices on the ones listed here, too..

For those of you who may move games A LOT and go up or down stairs, do yourself a favor and get a dolly with SOLID wheels. Nothing like watching tires bulging from the weight of a 350-lb or 400-lb game while you attempt to maneuver something.

The one we use at work is has large solid wheels and works great...

I just ordered the one from northern tools, I have a store right down the road from work so it's free delivery.. $169 for a 4 wheel hand truck like that is a smoking deal compared to most out there. It also got great reviews and I could always return it locally if I don't like it. Will definitely be worth having to save my back!

My only retort to this is my situation. I have a walkout basement and I have to roll my games down a slight hill over rocks, etc. to the back of my house to get them in. I also moved my 720 down that same hill in the snow (I plowed a path, but there was still snow). In any case, using one with solid wheels would have been almost impossible. However, you certainly can tell when you've got a soft tire. So, what works best might vary with your situation.

So, I've known for a week now that I'd be picking up a Playchoice today and had been looking for something like the harbor freight model you were looking at. I spent some time at Lowe's and Home Depot, and they were all almost double the price for a comparable thing. I went ahead and bought the one you were asking about, thinking if I didn't like it I could take it back.
Today she went on her maiden voyage for the Playchoice. I was hoping that the stair treads would help me get it out of the guy's basement, but all that happened was that I left skidmarks (not my first time) up the guy's steps. They didn't spin as much as drag.

However.

They were fantastic going down my basement steps. They were set so that they were so tough to move, that only the weight going down would get them to turn. I also think it has something with how the treads are designed, almost as if they grip better going down rather than up. They very slowly helped to lower it to the next step. I don't know that I would take that hand truck if I had to pull a game up and out of someone's basement again, but I definitely like it for how easy it was to take games down.

FWIW, my home depot version doesn't leave marks. They spin fine, both going up and down. And it's made in the USA. Imagine.

I have the one Lowes carries. Used the heck out of it for 3 or 4 years. At the old house all the games had to go up and down stairs to the basement. Never had a problem with the tracks.

I also have a pneumatic wheel dolly from Harbor Freight. Can not seem to find it on their site at the moment. I have used it when I have to roll one long distances, over add terrain, or think the tracks on the other dolly will tear up stairs. IE on nicely finished all hard wood treads and risers. I just loop a ratchet strap around the game and hook both ends to the center bar running up the frame.
