I hate the Harbor Freight appliance Dolly!
The rubber tracks on the back aren't on wheels, the just slide in a groove. Or I should say they're supposed to slide in the groove. In practice, they actually make it harder to go up stairs.

I loved the extra tip out bar to hold a longer load but the rubber tracks only make it harder to move up and down stairs.
I'm referring to them as a dolly, even though the proper term is hadn truck. I've purchased an appliance dolly from lowes, which works pretty good. I've purchased the appliance dolly from Sutherland's, which works okay, but the round buckle on the strap is in just the wrong spot so it crushes the edges of nearly every cabinet. I've also purchased an aluminum convertible "costco" dolly from lowes. It tips back with extra wheels which is great for moving games on a flat surface, and it will convert into a 4 wheel cart too. Not so much for climbing stairs though. I also bought a second hand magliner, which needs new stair skids.
The problem with most stair climbing dollies is all they do is reduce friction of climbing the stairs. It still requires lifting the whole weight of the machine. They also reduce the friction descending the steps, slamming the machine down on every step or going at an out of control speed if tipped back enough.
For steps i have prototyped a 4 wheel dolly that makes moving games(and appliances) up and down stairs a breeze. It would cost about 50% more to make then a standard dolly, yet makes stair climbing fairly effortless using leverage for a mechanical advantage. I have built a prototype and it works great. I have searched through patents and have found nothing of it's type. Now it's just a matter of finding an investor.
