Hi guys,
I'm here asking for some advice. What are some really good party games? The games I think of right off my head are dual play games like Warlords, Toobin' and the Nintendo Vs. System. Do you guys have your favorite's to play at arcade party's or ones that seem to do really well? please share. :)

Edit: You can add Soda bottle vending machines as well.

Well, I have never had a party at my "game corner" before, but I can tell you a couple of games that would be a blast to play at a party like that.

-Warlords Cocktail (Probably the best 4-player arcade game ever made)
-Atari football Cocktail (Intense head-to-head action)
-Track and Field (Who doesn't like this game?)
-Gauntlet (Great, intense 4-player action)
-Toobin (Very fun and unique)
-Capcom Bowling (From what I can tell, seems to be a good party game)
-Joust Pinball (If you can manage to find one!)

Great thread topic, btw.

my bud has crusin the world and that gets much play at get together's.
with in the games I have had Brave Firefighters was always a hit, slot machine, PP2 cockpit, basically any gun games ive seen do well.

Of course my son and I can not resist playing one another in the great Track and Field.

I have the 96 in 1 for my ms pacman and can't wait to have no-exit 1 man start ms pac plus tourney's. I played some by myself this weekend and some of those mazes can get brutal!

I have gauntlet legends and Track and field as ultimate party games IMO

My Blitz/Showtime gets a ton of play at parties as well as my pinballs.

Brian

Track and Field
TMNT,Captain America and the Avengers, and most 4 player games of that ilk.
Most pins
most Nintendo Vs games.
Tecmo bowl
6 player X-Men

Pole Position and the pinballs get the most coinage here. I havent had a chance to try out Golden Tee yet, but my friend who helped me bring it home couldnt stop playing it. I gotta admit though, Golden Tee is a game I like to call a "silent killer," because nobody really notices it or has any desire to play it initially, but once they take the first swing, theyre hooked.

Any driving game is usually a hit. In my arcade Sea Wolf, and my Captain Kid gun game(shooting gallery) are big hits. Wizard of Wor and Mr. Do! surprisingly do very well, too.

At game parties I've had, games that seem to get almost continuous play are:
Marble Madness,
Turkey Shoot
Trapshoot Classic (wall game)
any/all pinball games (Revenge From Mars being the most)

Games that get a lot of play:
Quantum,
Q*bert
Pacman
Blaster
Bubbles
Millipede
Wacko (this surprises me)

Games that get almost no play:
Tempest
Black Widow
Stargate
Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe
Major Havoc (except when other collectors are over)

Just my experience. There is some variance depending on what group of people are over. Woman like the pinball games and surprisingly like Quantum. Kids love Blaster and Turkey Shoot. People that aren't much interested in the games like Trapshoot. Other collectors like anything they don't already have. Everybody likes the popcorn machine (which also gets non-stop usage).

This is a pretty good list, except for the Joust pin. Assuming you are talking about the "head to head" version I have been to a few parties with one present and, other than some initial plays due to curiosity, it just gets ignored. Two of these parties were pin collectors and the third was non-gamers.

Any game where you compete with other players (non-alternating) instead of the computer tends to do pretty well. Warlords cocktail fits this description as does Atari Football. Another good one is the Demolition Derby four player cocktail.

My Top 10 Party Ideas. Not in any specific order...

1. Ivan Stewart Super Off Road 3player chaos always broke out at my house with this one.
2. TMNT or pretty much any button mashing 4 player game. Once they beat it though the crowd dies.
3. NBA Jam or my personal fav NBA Showtime on NBC / Blitz 2000 Gold Showtime cab.
4. Golden Tee 2005+ does well but not always. Just depends on the party mood.
5. 2 Player fighing games like Street Fighter or MKII, for the fighting fans.
6. Classics are always good. Who doesn't like a little Pac, DK, or Robotron.. Get a few at least and 1 classic multicade.
7. Some dual shooter types like T2, Lethal Enforcers, or whatever do pretty good too.
8. Throw in a sit down or two also. If you can be lucky enough to have a pair of sitdowns for head to head then that is awesome too.
9. Pop a Shot B-ball or Football. I have a UBQBII Football and the head to head competition mode always spawns some macho competition.
10. Pinballs, 2 good pins at least. I don't have any yet but I think it would be cool to add a couple at least. I hear these are popular.

Ok, that list is more than just one game but I couldn't help myself. Those are just what I've seen do well at my house but by all means use your own judgement.
