i know alot of you guys already have this game but i have wanted one for 10 plus years now.....and this one is local to me......
my question is....the guy says it has a few switch errors.....could that turn out to be something more major (in terms of costly repairs) down the road??? i would hate to get much MORE than $3000 into one of those....
what do you guys think?

Switch error = bargaining power.

I would love to have one of them dudes too. I just can't come up with that kinda scratch. Good luck though!

It could be as simple as a worn microswitch or it could be a transistor or two in the switch matrix. Hard to say without more info. Provided the machine is in otherwise good condition, I would consider it for $3k as it seems fair and slightly below average asking price.

Half Life

From what I've seen in the last year, $3k is a reasonable price for a TZ that is in good shape. If the machine boots, plays, the DMD is good, and you have sound, I wouldn't sweat a few switch errors.

I've had my TZ for about 10 years now and dealt with a few switch errors from time to time. It was always a blown transistor on the driver board that was the problem. Those driver boards are a pain in the butt, however it is a great pin that I will never sell.

Or the seller would renege on his asking price and start calling around and taking bids....

i emailed the seller and he said he had someone that night coming to see it. he said he removed soem of the mylar and on the spots he didnt remove it that there was dirt underneath the mylar. he said he has $3000 into it unshopped and wont take any less.........

i always thought tooooo much over $3000 was homeowner prices.......unless its CRAZY nice condition OR modified (sub kit, LEDS, mods, etc)

but they dont show up too often near me......
hmmmm

i guess ill see if the other guy took it.......i think if im considering paying a $3000 FIRM price with switch and mylar problems. i would rather find a 3500 machine that is extra nice that the seller will come down in price......

theres a teed off near me for $1000......id probably go after that game if it was closer to $800....

i wish there was a pinball "depot" store........where it was a large warehouse type store that had your choice of unshopped dot matrix with minor problems for decent prices and package deals.......games you could look at in person.....and the people would get to know their customers and give better deals with time and multiple purchases. and the people selling them would not be SHADY.........im not saying you call back and expect them to fix something a week later......BUT not try and hide THINGS

3k with issues seems a little high to me. In the last year I've seen them go working for a little under 3k.

I wish my dogs ate old news papers and crapped $100 bills.
