We have an "EDOT" that's a little goofy here at the arcade...
Ran a ROM/RAM test on it last week... showed a bad ROM. So, I come in today with my EMP-20, some blank 27C64's because I'm sure it's on the CPU board (yeah... if you picked up on that already... you'll see where I'm going with this).
I get in, get the machine pulled back enough to get behind it, pull the boards, check the EPROMs... and TADA... CPU4 is bad. ... and a 27128.
Didn't remember that DOT boards have 128's on the CPU board instead of 64's. ... Luckily there's a barber shop across the hall from us. I go over there and check to see if they have a UV lamp there for their gear, because it's the same type of light used in EPROM erasers. They do! ... and the thing doesn't even come on now...
So close... Now I'll have to take the chip home with me, clear it, and bring it back up... about an hour and a half on the road just for 1 chip. ...
