I am trying to get the above monitor working for my Dart Star 2000 dart board. Bought this non-working. I opened up the monitor and it was filled with dirt and smelled of burnt plastic. I replaced the bridge diodes and the caps and resistors in the 900 circuit. Then plugged it in and now the blue disk capacitor at C715 is smoking. It is the one near the big black block thing which attaches to the side of the tube. I will also replace the diode and resistors adjacent to the capacitor just in case.
My question is, what are the likely causes to make a ceramic capacitor burn in general and if you know anything about this monitor type, this capacitor in particular? I have fixed pinball machines many times but this is my first monitor. Thank you.

I replaced all the items in that first guide you mentioned except the C712, C713 and C608 because the local electronics store didn't have them.
There is still no picture whatsoever and the best B+ I can get is 11.3vdc.

Do you have a part number for that C712?

Any other ideas?

C712 is a special electrolytic and it goes bad alot. Most local electronics parts dealers won't stock it. It is supplied in the Zanen Electronics capkits for this model.
