Golden Tee Red board vs Green

Originally, the green board came out. Then they developed an issue where running the power through the edge connector, through the board which was a power hog, and then into the hard drive was burning up the edge connector.

So they sent out a little adaptor, so you could plug the power into the board where it was sending OUT the power to the hard drive, and also power the hard drive with the adaptor, which plugged into the power supply. Basically the power no longer ran through the edge connector. This worked great.

Next, they released the red board, which is slightly redesigned and uses a computer type power supply, which plugs straight into the motherboard.

Personally, I prefer the green ones because you can use a regular power supply. The red ones need a pretty hefty power supply to run them, a standard atx supply usually isn't strong enough. You can order the right one off ebay or from IT themselves, I think they're about 35 bucks.
