I finally got my Golden Tee back up and running and its by far the most played game I own. Its crazy how much people freaking love this game. I have the 2004 PCB installed, and I'm looking to get the Complete setup one of these days. I don't know if its the ease of play, the mellowness of golf, the pretty med res graphics, the soothing voice of my man Pat Summerall, the course records it keeps, the ability to see your name on the leaderboards, or the variety of courses but the game gets played non stop. Dudes love it, Chicks dig it, and kids cant get enough of it. Even if you aren't a fan of Golf, it would behoove all of you to add a Golden Tee setup of some kind to your gameroom (I know, its not a classic but its still freaking rocks). You (and your guests) wont be dissapointed.

I think GT can be thought of as a new classic. It had a huge impact on the bar scene from 97-07 for sure. Even at 3 bucks for 18 holes, people were still interested in playing it over and over. GT is this decade's Pacman.

You cant argue with the $$$ it makes, that's for sure. I too would consider this a new school classic. And just like Pacman, anyone can walk up to GT and play it.

One of the better ones for drinking while playing with a group. All arcades need a GT. Relax, drink, and play with your club.

I am a huge fan of golden tee, game play is amazing, great competition with friends, I would love one when I get the space

I scored a GT Classic and it get played like mad. I want to up grade to the newer years but just a little short on cash right now. I think it is a must have. Like Jow said anyone can walk up and play.

Great point. We used to have beer holes (highest score chugs), front and back 9 shots, etc. Its a great drinking game.

Easy to play and it allows a group of people to compete with one another= great party game. I don't have my GT 2005 anymore but I have a World Class Bowling which everyone says is the best game E V A R! I disagree, though it is a lot of fun.

I use my MAME machine for GT. While the controls are slightly different it gives just as much enjoyment as the real deal. I have $45 taped to it for a hole in one. No ones hit it yet after 3 years lol. When the hell is newer versions going to be released for MAME. I almost feel this is a BYOAC question ;)

That's a cool idea, man. I am planning on having a GT tourney after the first of the year. Maybe we will take some of the $$$ as a Hole In One prize.

I picked up a Golden Tee for cheap. Bought it because it had a good monitor so I was planning on keeping as a Golden Tee until something else needed a monitor. Then it would be gutted, smashed, set on fire, pissed on to put it out, then allowed to dry, and set on fire again.

But, oddly enough, when my mom's over, she plays the hell out of it. So... I guess I gotta keep it. She only plays that and MsPac... so I can't really get rid of it now since she's TERRIBLE at MsPac.

Personally, I hate the game (see the above destruction plans)... The only thing I can think of that's more boring than watching golf is playing it... the only thing (same category) that's more boring that playing it in real life, is playing a video game version of it.

I'm putting together a Cherry Master for her just so I can wean her off of Golden Tee and get back to being able to smash it.

Used to play GT alot back then but with the release of "Bags" it has been my 2nd choice.....

I cannot stand Bags. I have tried it a few times, and the swing feels OK, but the release of the bag always seems random and out of your control. I do like Shuffleshot and WCB Deluxe in addition to GT. My wife likes Silver Strike.

Are Silver Strike/Bags/etc plug and play with a GT Fore harnesses? Seems the CP setup is all the same.

What is a good to buy a GT? I have been wanting one but 900 or more is a bit to high for me.

It all depends on the version. I personally got my cab for $300, but the monitor had issues and it cost me $135 to get it rebuilt. For $435 I was incredibly happy. If you can find a nice looking conversion (many of them look terrible), you should be able to get a Fore! series in the $400-$500 range.

I got my really nice complete for $600 a couple years back. No doubt a favorite at parties. I think it is popular because of the slower pace, players take turns, you have time to drink and socialize while playing. Doesn't take a whole lot of skill to play, easy to learn and most importantly gambling is encouraged.

I agree, it is a modern day "classic".

In my 5 or so years of playing the Golden Tee series, I've only hit 1 hole in one. It was a proud day indeed, and the replay of the shot was saved as one of the greatest shots on that machine and played during the attract mode.

sadly, the seedy bikini bar that the machine was in is now closed and the fate of that GT machine is unknown.

GT rocks plain and simple, I'll get me a complete set up one of these days.

The problem with Golden Tee is that is is ONLY fun when you have people over. Once you play it by yourself a handful of times, it is simply tedious.

No doubt though ... it is the first thing people want to play when they come over.

"Holy Shit, dude ... you have a Golden Tee ... IN YOUR HOUSE!"

Ummmm ... yeah ... I'll get the beers.
