I was wondering what some of you thought was better? I have a chance to pick up a PGA Tour and was wondering if it was as good or better than Golden Tee.

I've always thought PGA Tour was better just in terms of 'reality'. Golden Tee was more comic oriented which is fun. Aw, forget it, they're both fun!

Depends on the PGA Tour version, or the GT version (don't get pre-2002 over a PGA). The GT Fore series (2002 and on) and the PGA are both good, but I agree the PGA looks more "real".

I have a PGA Tour Championship III, and it has 15 courses, while all GT Fore's (except for Complete) only have 5 or 6.

Still, I think some of the GT course can be harder to play.

I like on PGA where you can do different shot types (like top spin, backspin, lob, punch, etc) where on GT you can only do backspin or not. Also, on mine you can choose between 12 PGA and 3 LPGA players to play as, and can choose to play as right-handed or left-handed. You can't do that on GT.

BUT - GT's seems to sell for more right now, probably because of the name recognition....

I didn't know their was more than one version of PGA Tour. Hmm

Is there any compatibility between the two? Like to run PGA Tour in a GT Fore cab?
I know Golden Tee is kind of proprietary in its use of JAMMA, but I would mind having a system able to run either game.

My PGA Tour is in a GT cab (they released conversion manuals to do so), but it was a complete swap. The PGA is on a computer, while the GT's were JAMMA boards until the GT Live switched to computers, too...

I guess this is the original version? What do these typically sell for?

Depends. Normally, any newer golf game tends to list at around $1000 on CL around here if it's in good shape, although I sometimes see them list for less with slight monitor issues, or by somebody facing eviction.

Still, I hear about these selling for $200-400 at SuperAuctions.

Mine's been completely redone and has a very nice rebuilt 27" VGA monitor in it, so while I'm selling mine, I'm not selling it for $200-400....

Thanks. I have the same cab with a 2005 Fore! in it.
I was hoping that PGA Tour was just a board and hard drive like that era Golden Tee. I've never played PGA, but I'm very interested in it since I love GT.

For those of us who can't afford a nice shiny PGA Tour cab. Is that made for the PC or is it only Tiger Woods now...
