Hello,

I got a new hard drive off Ebay (Trentoncoin) for my GT 2005. I am getting 5.1 VDC at pins 16 and 32 on Chip U15. All the memory tests went fine in test mode. I got a new ribbon cable, double checked that the red lines were positioned at pin 1.

Do I need to update the version of my chip at U15 for the hard drive to be detected? I currently have version 1.06. If I need a newer version, where can I buy an upgraded chip?

Thanks!

Does the security chip say GT45 or G45? It needs to for the 2005 HD. If it says G44 or GT44, then it is for a 2004....

Another thing I just thought of...

I ordered a Golden Tee 2005 Extra Tournament hard drive. Is there a GT 2005 Extra "standard" hard drive?

Thanks

no. Standard and extra are the choices. Either should work fine with a G45. Do you have a red board or a green board? I've had problems getting a HD/chip for a green board to work with a red board....

Ok, so when I turn on my Golden Tee, the start up screen counts from 1 up to 4, then stops and says, "Hard Drive Detected", then freezes. Nothing happens.

Is this a hard drive issue?

Thanks!

Maybe the boot rom is a lower version for the new hard drive capacity. If you have a 1.06 version let say and a 40 or 80 gig hard drive i believe you will have problems. You might have to increase your boot rom to a 2. version or so. Call I.T. on boot rom and your hard drive capacity and see what they say.
