I have a 2005 Red Board GT that is stuck in test mode. I checked the SW51 switch to make sure the test switch had not been thrown but it has not. It boots into test mode and you can cycle through the menus appropriately but you cannot exit the test mode. I followed an earlier post in my research but it never reported a resolution. Any help would be appreciated.

First check to make sure the start button or test button aren't shorted closed or hooked up to Normally Closed on the switches. And when you were checking DIP SW51-#1, you made sure it was ON, correct. If it is OFF, then it boots to test mode. You may want to do a reading on that switch to make sure it's good, too...

test

i would check your start button switch if it is pressed down either on control panel or on the switch underneath not releasing after it is pressed, or switch connectors are touching. Maybe the test switch leads inside the coin door are touching.?

Thanks for replying so quickly. Yes, the SW51 #1 is on ON...As for the start button...I'll double check but I believe it is OK. I will also check on the DIP switch itself. Thanks again. If anyone else has any theories I am open to them.

Well...the start switch is OK. However, after closer examination, it looks like some work has been done previously around SW51...if this switch is OK is there some other area to look at? I hope it doesn't involve any of the IC's close-by that appear to be surface mounted IC's. With my soldering skills I am sure I would mangle them.
