Hello,
A few quick newbie questions about Golden Tee fore. Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.
1. Since this game is already more than 10 years old, how long can I expect the hard drive to last? Or, are comparisons to PC hard drives irrelevant?
2. Any other critical equipment pieces prone to failure at this age?
3. For added flexibility, how easy would it be to convert this game to a bowling (Silver Strike?) game? Swap hard drives and PCB only? Something else...?
Thanks again.
Al

#1 If ti works fine run it. It is a pc hard drive.. so itll die someday. Moreso if you move the game around, vibration+age seems to kill them. But if it works, run it.

#2 power supply, trackball bearings

#3 while ive heard of i.t. using the same or simular board for different games i have yet to see an incredible technologies multiboard. That would be effing sweet though. To swap to another i.t. game like silverstrike, i think its as simple as a pcb and hard drive swap unless silverstrike used a pc. You will have to make sure both boards are the same color though, because wiring and power suplies are different between the greenboard and redboard versions.

Yeah, Silverstrike runs on a computer intel or AMD based chip system with either a AGP or PCIE video card (depends on board), which communicates via USB with two different boards in order to work. The CID board, which identifies the cabinet's authenticity, and the I/O board which explains itself.

Anyone play Golden Tee on a 19" monitor?

Thinking of the fore series...how's the game play on a 19" monitor?
