I just picked up 5 of these things. I have Zero experience or Knowledge of how they function or are wired up. I see they use a Computer style Power Supply and there is a Hard drive connected with IDE cables. and of course they are Jamma. my question is :: When connecting the power to the board I see 2 connectors for power do both of those need to have power to them or is just one fine? I see there is only one IDE cable and 2 channels. so I am a little confused.
\Thanks

I am assuming this is a green board as it has the two power connectors. (Red boards use the ATX power connector) Power will need to be applied to both connectors. There is a cable called the "power bypass cable" that has connectors for these two ports (or you could make your own as the bypass cable just splits the power from the one input to two output connectors). Also, if you do apply power through these connectors, make sure that power is not going through the JAMMA connection. You can use either method (JAMMA or Bypass), but the bypass is the recommended method.

HD gets connected to IDE1. Second one is not used.

In the manual for GT 2004 it mentions using the Peter Chou style PS for green PCBs. Can you just use the JAMMA power??? The manual implies that it needs the PC style only.

You can use JAMMA for power but it is not recommended.

EDIT: I should add you can do this for the green board only. Red requires an ATX power supply and and additional voltage.

i have a red board.....what extra voltage is needed besides the ATX? does it use the JAMMA for power also?

The ATX will supply all the voltages needed for the red board. No power should be running through the JAMMA harness.

ATX supplies: +3vdc, +5vdc, +12vdc. The +3 is the extra voltage that is needed and a standard switching PS does not generate.
