I recently purchased a Golden Tee Fore! off local craigslist. The monitor did not work when I bought it, and the guy I bought it from was pretty clueless as to how the thing works in general. I know that the first thing I should do is check the power to the monitor and make sure its getting juice (got voltmeter, just haven't done this yet).

Randomly scoping craigslist I came upon a Crisis Zone Deluxe with a bad gun, wondered if I could use the HUGE projection monitor with the Golden Tee boards and hard drive (I have a pedestal built already to house the GT Fore control panel, boards hard drive and power supply)? I did some searching and found out that there were two types of Toshiba Projection monitors used in these machines, one of them has a straight 15 pin RGB connection (which I imagine would work for this application)... Its EXTREMELY cheap, guy is asking $150 for it, and EXTREMELY large, just wanted to see if anyone who has more experience might be able to shed some light on this situation for me.

Either way, I think I am going to go with a pedestal setup, but the other option is to go the CGA/EGA to VGA conversion route or get an AverKey. I have seen threads that claim that these work, but I am unsure that its the route I want to go.

Guide me KLOV'ers!
Thanks in advance!

I have a Golden Tee Fore! and it does not run on VGA. At least, I have tried countless VGA monitors, and none have worked. My research has proven that Golden Tee Fore! is CGA or EGA only, not VGA.

Well, the new GT Live's are VGA, or CGA/EGA, or even SVGA, via dip switch settings on a interface board.

But his question was about using a converter to change the CGA/EGA signal to VGA. It would probably be better on those big TV monitors you were mentioning to get a CGA-to-NTSC converter, and just plug it into the TV...
